Hey Brother, I am currently in my sophomore year and I have no knowledge about coding or programming. I want to study for ap CSP and I am planning to take ap CSP in the senior year so I have 2 years. From where should I study for ap CSP for free and will the platform teach me from basics?

Code.org has some helpful KZbin videos, and I'm sure there are other channels out there with helpful videos. AP CSP isn't really about coding as much as understanding how computers work and what computer science is, and you definitely don't need previous knowledge of coding or programming for the course.

Hello! As someone who is currently taking AP CSP and hates coding, it is very simple. You should take it when you can :) I recommend it 100%!

@@Dayvo-oq1fr Hi David, I don't know if this message is of any use to you since I'm replying a year late however I'm taking APCSP as a Freshman in HS and I would say it is decently challenging. I am in a class of mostly upperclassmen and sometimes it can feel slightly frustrating when many understand and grasp concepts quickly. Nevertheless, if you put effort into learning the material (which I do not think is too difficult), you'll be fine. Although it is a principles class, it is still AP so it can be challenging depending on the person and one's experience with such concepts. I think that if anyone is considering taking it, they definitely should! It's a very interesting class and has great benefits such as exposure to tech.

You can find them on college board's website by on their "past exams" page for CSP. Try the link, but if not, go into their website. As always, let us know if we can do anything else for you. apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-computer-science-principles/exam/past-exam-questions towards the end of this next link (around page 170) there are some sample mc questions apcentral.collegeboard.org/pdf/ap-computer-science-principles-course-and-exam-description.pdf

As long as you're signed up for the AP exam, you should be able to get credit for it. As far as self studying, go through code.org's course and use the Crash Course CSP book for review. The performance and explore task could be done independently, you will just need to use college board's past exam examples to see a reference. Also, the review books walk you through both tasks, so you don't need to rely on a class to teach you, however it will be a little more difficult to self study. CSP is one of the easier AP courses so you should do just fine. Good luck!

See if your community college offers CS courses, you may be able to enroll in some of the ones they offer. Contact the counselor at your school for some help if you need it. Let us know if we can do anything else for you.

Could you please let me know how do you retain all of the information from code.org? I use it as well but there's so much information jam-packed into each unit.

Just try and take it slow, and take notes. Personally, I loved the Barron's AP Comp Sci Principles book to review some units from code.org. You can never go wrong with having a friend to study with, and help each other's weak spots. This may not be as helpful as those last tips, but youtube is always a good resource to help clarify some topics in Comp Sci.
