Very informative video. I am coming over to the Philippines in a couple weeks and will apply for an SRRV visa using the same nice people who helped you. I told them you referred me and they seemed happy about that. One new SRRV visa change is the criminal background check can no longer be done in the Philippines by Interpol. They were adamant that it had to be done in my home country (America) BEFORE I flew over there. I did it through the FBI and then used an online apostille service. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the information and it was clearly presented. Quick question, how does this compare to a spousal visa and the benefits/pros-cons? Thanks!
@Americaninthephilippines
@Americaninthephilippines 15 күн бұрын
Wow that could probably be its own video. Let’s see if I can make it short but sweet. Spousal visa cons: Annual reporting to bureau of immigration, long process with probationary visa followed by another application process for real visa. Spousal visa also has to follow the exit clearance rules anytime you want to leave with bureau of immigration. Spousal visa is also controlled by the Filipina and can be removed by them. The only real pro I can think of is the costs…spousal visa is cheaper to receive and renew
@phukradung7383
@phukradung7383 15 күн бұрын
@ How long is the probation before getting real one and does it still have the same cons? Interesting the spouse can remove it when divorce isn’t an option so that surprised me. Thank you very much for the quick response and the nice concise reply summary. I look forward to your transformer video and continued content. Ingat.

@@phukradung7383 I believe first probationary spousal visa is for one year then you must go through all of the steps/process again to apply for permanent visa. As always the steps can be quite lengthy and full of requirements. Best of luck on your choice

To “trial” the PH. As long as I come in with my wife, we can do balakbayan for a year. Then we just fly to Guam, Aust, or Japan for a weekend trip and to shop. Then return to PH for another year. No SRRV fee this way unless and until declide to relocate perm.

But they now require you to visit the PRA office or satellite office to renew your SRRV card annually. I was hoping that they wouldn't require that, just do it online like before, but it is what it is. EDIT... Online is an option. See replies below.

If I understand correctly, you did not pay the agency directly except for a tip afterwards. Is that correct? The $500 they get back is usually sufficient for their services? "All" it cost total was $3K?
