I had a nightmare with the bequiet 12m. Fourth PC build, everything worked but the fans. Including CPU and GPU fans. MSI and ASUS support for motherboard said it was a bad motherboard so I tried 3 different motherboards, a different case, same results. So for a last attempt I switched the PSU to the Corsair RM750e and it worked. None of the companies suggested it was the PSU. My confidence in PC building has been restored, but damn. I've only found a tiny bit of variation in the 6000 CL30 kits. Buildzoid has some great manual timings if you are looking for more performance, FYI. I think HWUB did a video with his timings and they were impressive with a 4090 at 1080p.

From what I have seen from reviews we need to wait for proper bios updates to fix many issues with this CPU. The only thing it has going for it is power efficiency. The new 9000 series is not any better than the 7000 series.
@PCBuilderChannel4 ай бұрын
We used the MSI beta bios for the B650 Tomahawk, not the AMD validated reviewer bios (it is only available for the top X670E board from each AIB, and those super expensive boards aren't valid for a best value build guide). Our 9600X ran super solid, including RAM compatibility. I don't want to speculate as to a cause for the issues others experienced, but early adopter bugs like RAM compatibility are always a thing (12th Gen and Ryzen 7000 on B650 were way worse, IMO). I'm sure they'll get the issues ironed out in a month or so.

With higher performance GPUs it gives a decent performance boost for around $80. Especially since $80 probably won't get you up to the next GPU it makes sense with a higher GPU pairing than the 7600. But I'm still waiting for more data points and we'll see more reviews come out in the 24 hours. And I'm betting like the 7000 series, we'll see some serious price drops inside the first 30 days.

I own 4 of the standard Aorus elite ax b650 and 4 x670 versions as they were the best bang for the buck with 8 layer pcb, vrm temps a degree or two of the high end boards and 5.0 for 1 m2 slot. This white version you are paying a bit for the white version. Solid boards, update bios , enable expo and turn on memory context restore to speed up boot up. Yep like PCBC said below audio isn’t anything great and I knew that before buying. Most of my builds I already had sound cards or I use hdmi out to a receiver. Great board if you are looking for an all white mobo. Also IMO Gigabyte 600 series boards have tended to be the most stable with the fastest boot times, but there's been so many bios changes that I can't say that definitively. Hello, i'm new to these things and got a AIO cooler from Cooler Master (Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 Atmos ARGB ) I have a old motherboard b450 M and only got 1 CPU_FAN port and 2 CHA_FAN Ports. I have 1 exit fan in the CHA_FAN And got the front 3 fabnsin the other CHA_FAN port The AIO Cooler has like 3 conectors that supposed to go in the fan ports. Do you recommend that i get a 3 to 1 CPU Splitter to connect the AIO to the CPU_FAN port? i'm a bit lost what to do now...

I was totally expecting this to be a "Don't! get a R5 7600X instead or wait for the problems to shake out first." video. This because every 9600X review I've seen so far has shown the CPU to perform badly. Well at least not blowing the 7600X out of the water, and in some games actually being slower. Something else all reviewers has talked about is crashes and blue screens repeatedly. Someone even retired their x7600 review and only posted a review of the R7 9700X instead as the 9600 was so unstable they couldn't do the benchmarks. Not that the 9700x was perfectly stable, but at least they were able to run the benchmarks. So I would suggest to either wait for the problems to be solved or just go for the older 7600X for the moment. Sure it may take a bit more power, but at least it will probably not crash your system as often. Or you could get a Intel processor and roll the die... For that I want to say the 13600K is cheap and within a percent of the performance of the 14600K, but the 12900K is the solid one without the bugs Intel is trying to nail down. An in games performance the 12900K is about equal with the 13600k and 14600K. So personally I don't think this is a good time to build a new system. You either get a Intel processor that might or might not die on you. Or you get a one gen old processor from AMD because right now the latest generation doesn't seem perfectly stable and slightly overpriced. I sure hope the AMD 9000 series will turn out to be stable, and perhaps it might start performing better with some bios upgrades, but right now it doesn't look like they are really ready for market.
@PCBuilderChannel4 ай бұрын
I think that like the 7600X, the 9600X will be discounted quite quickly. Even at $279, it has a decent value proposition that the Ryzen 9700X just doesn't have - in fact the Ryzen 7 non-X3D CPUs have always been poor value and the 9700X at $359 continues that trend. I haven't seen any reports of 9600X instability (a lot of 9700X issues!) and ours ran rock solid including with a couple different RAM kits.
@blahorgaslisk77634 ай бұрын
@@PCBuilderChannel Good to hear you didn't have any stability problems. A few of the reviewers that posted about the problems were Level1Techs, JayzTwoCents, Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed. The last also only posted a R7 9700X review as their R5 9600X weren't stable enough to run the benchmarks. On the other hand didn't Anadtech mention having any problems and posted higher performance for the 9000 series processors than the others. Some of the others contacted AMD and asked if their performance numbers looked reasonable and were told that was about what they should expect. But until the problems has been solved I would still be careful. It might just be BIOS problems, or the review samples sent out were from the batches that AMD called back to test in order to replace problematic examples before they were sold to customers. I blame Intel for making me this suspicious. There were few mentions of Intel processors having a problem before the big crash started. Now I want to see this strange instability explained before I feel sure about the new processors from AMD being a good choice.

@PCBuilderChannel4 ай бұрын
IMO I wouldn't buy the 9600X to upgrade an existing 7600X, because you're spending $279 for about 10% (because you already own the 7600X). That's different when choosing between the 7600X and 9600X if you are buying them both new (so then you pay about $80 more for the 10%, which is more worth it). If you aren't happy with the 7600X, consider the 7800X3D which just dropped to $350 today. Hope that helps!

Gaming performance numbers - vs - 7600x ? *Edit I've just watched Hardware unboxed review of the 9700x where its 3% improvement in gaming and most of the gains are in power usage. Some benefits in synthetic benchmarking were there although nothing outstanding for the most part Even being slower in some titles such titles as Starfield and limited uplift in Assassins creed and CSGO So im curious if for the 9600x vs 7600x the same thing applies.
@PCBuilderChannel4 ай бұрын
Thus far what I'm seeing is the 9600X is the winner of the 9000 series and is providing similar gaming performance to the 7700X or even slightly better at times, for a reduced price and power usage. I suspect that is due to the cache usage improvements on Ryzen 9000 vs 7000, but can't confirm that yet.

Hey Jason, the Ryzen 9000 Series doesn't officially retail launch until Tomorrow! So thanks for this excellent preview! I should be picking up my AM5 Motherboard soon, but if the Ryzen 9000 Series CPU's arrive priced $100-$200.00 Cad. more than the Current Ryzen 7000 Series CPU's, then I'm kind of stuck in: What do I do mode?? Finally, right now there's a $20.00 Cad. difference in price between: Ryzen 5 7600 & 7600x. Is the 7600x worth the Extra $20.00 ?? Thanks,
@PCBuilderChannel4 ай бұрын
7600 and 7600X difference isn't worth paying money for (turn PBO on for both CPUs), but grab 7600X if same price. My advice is that if dropping down to the 7600 over the 9600X allows you to get a bigger GPU, then that is the direction I'd go generally until you get to the bigger GPUs like the 7900 XT and 4070 Ti Super.
