So this video turning up in my feed now felt like magic! 🤣 I was also looking for some information about aquarium trends changing over time (let's say years or even decades). Same here. I have a canal barely half mile from my residence. I believe more plant varieties are there in that. When I started my planted aquarium I brought Red Cabomba and Val from store and later found out that I could collect tonnes of them for free. This year when the water level got reduced I collected many varieties for my aquarium. Being a beginner I am not even able to identify them properly.

Great "best sellers" video!👍🏻:) To my mind, you have to distinguish with Eleocharis. Acicularis mini probably does not do well in an No Co2 environment, but parvula/pussila grows relative good.

Most Eleocharis species are doing ok in Non-CO2 environment, but you need CO2 for a lush carpet. Also make sure temp is always below 25C

I’ve grown dwarf hair grass with my tap water and no Co2. It does perfectly fine. I do use the dry start method but It’ll do good without Co2 I’ve tested this 3x

I like epiphyte plants and admittedly i often use small to medium sized Cryptocoryne and Echinodorus. Because they are low maintenance also they can have great variation in leave stucture and coloration.

I once saw a large tank that used val. Americana asiatica for a carpet plant and man was it something! Not sure how hard/long it would take to get it conditioned to only growing 3-4in. (7-10cm) tall by constantly trimming short.

Hello, I have a question concerning the decoration of a tray: I want to put a beautiful rock crystal in a tray that will contain shrimp, the problem is that I cannot find any information on the subject, is it that there would be a contraindication to putting crystals such as rock crystal or Amethyst in a tank, is that their component can diffuse in the water of the tank, this is what I find on the composition of the crystal Rock: Rock crystal is a colorless transparent quartz (hyaline quartz). It is part of the group of silicates and is mainly composed of silicon (SiO2) and for Amethyst it is identical: chemical formula is SiO2, so the composition of amethyst is silicon dioxide Have you ever seen hardscape with this kind of decoration, if not do you think that there could be some risk for rather resistant shrimp? I know there is one ADA product that contains Tourmaline but other than that I have never seen anything else regarding the use of crystals, there is at least one that I know that is definitely not recommended to put in a shrimp tank it is Malachite which is composed largely of copper which is harmful to shrimp, but the crystals I do not think they dissolve in water Thank you for all your inspiring videos 👍

@@GreenAquaShop yeah it’s natural range is mainly right next door in New England, which is where I grew up so I remember seeing it in the ponds and ditches on the sides of the road. Maybe there’s a lot of people with that nostalgia because there’s a lot of people in that area? Just a thought. 😃
