If you have nice quality tap water and want to add some buffer capacity to your tank water I think it makes perfect sense to mix tap water and RO water.
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is true, but most don't know and still mix. Also, tap water contains nutrients which will add to the unknown - for example if you want lean fertilizing and you have nitrate in your tank you'll not like the fact that you don't have nice reds, etc.

ITS hard work but well done guys, great vid,comments by pro s can tell you a lot about your own tank issues. I bought an AC for my living; temps of my tanks went above 30 C . Now I can function normal again and my tanks are at 24 C( Netherlands heatwave for 2 weeks with high moist it's terrible) . I know fish and plants can handle high temperatures temporary but I didn't. That's was a great video with lots of good advice! It's great to see what level of tanks everyone else has compared to you, just to see where you are, once I want to spend more money ill set up my other 60p. hopefully this will one will have at least one day without being taken over by algae. still fighting it, I got like a hair algae in my other 60p and in my 3gal I got the slimy hair algae. and I just don't have much time Atm to do 5-7 hour maintenance sessions to scrub every rock, do multiple water changes, cut and sort plants.. etc. So im a bit stuck for now. Anyways I was looking forward to this vid and it was worth it haha! keep the amazing work up! As always from Australia, have a great week and see you next Thursday! Great video once again by Green Aqua team. I really loved the fact that Green Aqua team has gone through all entries and try to featured as many as possible. Also very good points mentioned by BALÁZS in the review. All the different type of aquarium was covered and i am really happy with the deep approach and detailed access done by Team. One thing i really want to consider is a cooling fan since my aquarium is running at 28 degree Celsius here in India. Now i think its one of the key factor for algae to come even after doing regular water changes, maintenance 😊.. I will surely try to put the temperature bit low. Also i have ramerezi in my aquarium along with Tetras, Rasbora and Red cherry Shrimps.. I hope they will be fine if i run around 23 - 24 degree Celsius. I will take a leap of faith in your words Tommy 😊

Great idea to showcase tanks of your viewers, and to allow us all to learn from one another. I’d encourage you to do this regularly, maybe once a quarter, as it would continue to convene the community of aquascapers you have helped create. It means a lot of us to get feedback from you guys, both positive and “constructive”. One idea might be to select fewer tanks and to give more in depth critiques, but otherwise, this format works very well, too. Great job!

Yeah, that was the other option here, but we got soooo many entries, wanted to squeeze in as many as possible in the first episode, to give you a better picture of the world aquascaping. But now, if we'll have a next one, if this is liked by many, we'll do a slower one.

maybe you can give some shout out to Fish For Thought's channel? he starts this trend and everyone taking his idea he is smaller youtube channel than you why not help his channel grow too, like all the big youtube channels take small channel ideas, like the " best or worst rated restaurant in my city " trend. all bigger youtubers took that idea from a small youtuber. just saying. doesnt hurt to shout out. free.

We do not even know this channel before you mention it. But did you know that we organize aquascaping contest for over 10+ years where we give feedback to all entrants? Also we've been judges on many international contest before where we did the same? This is not a new idea giving feedback to people on their aquariums. At least not from us :)

Although I appreciate the video... I am not sure if 2 points you mentioned are always correct. I am from India. 1)I have seen planted tanks been kept at temperatures of 25 degrees and 28 degrees without algea...Plants were healthy. 2) discus can't be kept in planted tank you said.But I have seen discus being kept in planted tank at temperatures of 25 degrees.Discus were quarantined over 2 weeks..with temp being reduced gradually from 28 to 25 degrees.even ada india (mumbai branch) is doing a video on discus in planted tank. Just felt like sharing what I felt.cheers!

1) Common misconception. If one can do it, all can do it. That is just not so. Very few can do it, most will have algae - that's the truth - unfortunately :( 2) Yes, I've heard of some people keeping the fish at that temperature, we don't like the idea too much, they will probably survive, but they will not feel good. :(

Good night I would like to thank you for all the videos posted by you until today, sorry for my terrible English, I just want to summarize that I was successful in making a high-tech aquarium thanks to the teachings passed by you, it took me almost two years to buy all the equipment necessary at this moment I have a very beautiful six-month aquarium with a PH of 6.5 KH in 4 GH in 4 I use Seachem products dosing three liters of biological media matrix CO2 injection daily without fear and I have no problems with algae or I learned a lot with you and I would like you to know this so that you can motivate yourself to continue posting videos teaching that having an aquarium is not about money but about planning I watch your videos from Brazil Thank you Green Aqua team!

I don't think it's courage. We all started somewhere, as I said, I started very low, so I don't think I'm in a position to compare myself to these scapes. The most important thing for me still is to evolve, rescape, learn. It does not matter where we are in that journey. Cheers.

Happy to see my fellow Singaporeans represent! Our aquascape and aquarium hobby community here are quite big as we are lucky to have easy access to and economical cost of plants, livestock and hardware :) only thing going against us is climate but most of us have been running nice scapes above 26°C anyways haha

Nice video! Can you guys make a video about getting rid of pests in aquascape? like planaria, gammarus or others
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
There's not much to say about that. First of all, don't overfeed, do the regular water changes. A well maintained tank is less prone to those. Secondly you can get medications that will get rid of those (but might kill your snails too, be aware, take them out). I can't tell you what kind of medication is needed, inquire locally. :)

After watching this video, i'm just wondering what temperature does Josh Sim kept for his tanks anyway.. unless he kept his tanks outside of Malaysia, here in Malaysia is 28'c - 30'c all year long.. even in raining season it is hard to get lower temp.Great video anyway thanks for alot of info.😁

I made it through art school enduring endless criticisms and other's ideas ... you just get used to it and learn to accept what you want of other's ideas and appreciate the time people took to give their opinions. I think you gave people some really useful ideas and weren't stuffy about it. They submitted their videos obviously to learn more about how they are progressing so hope you guys get a shout out from them.. Just in general...It would be cool to see a cross pollination between professional/aquascaping and the idea of those who just decorate and choose fish from a purely individual/artistic point of view. I'm just new at it so I'm noticing things like this. I don't like driftwood and barely tolerate rocks in my aquariums but realize they do have their importance. I am imagining these materials contribute to the health of plants which I do love. I do have issues with plants though. I would say it is the temperature which I keep higher than what you recommend (too chilly for my fishes) but the same plants do well in some tanks and not as well or die in others. blah blah blah

No idea if you guys notice comments this late, but I have a little question regarding temperature, plants and german blue rams. Everywhere I've read it says german blue rams want at least 27-28 degrees Celsius. Which clashes with the message in this video about keeping temperatures at 23 or below. So to my question, are german blue rams simply not suitable if I want a really nice planted tank / aquascape? Or is it your opinion that the rams can do well in lower temps?

Love this video guys I think you should continue this series. Just wondering, How do you know when to use black or withe background?
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 4 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it. Well, it depends on what you want to achieve. If you want to close the layout and have a closed feeling, no perspective, just darkness, accentuating the scape, you'll use black. If you want open spaces, focus to the bkgd, then you'll use white. We use mostly white though. Easier. More open.
