FYI, 47 years in life insurance (CLU) and financial planning (ChFC) business. Never put your life insurance policies in a safety deposit box. The life insurance policies have no intrinsic value if lost or stolen. The insurance company will replace them upon request. You want your heirs to have immediate access to the policies in the event of your death so they can file a death claim with the insurance company. Just put them where they are easily found and accessible by your family.

I think you be better off using a po box as a sdb. Just mail your silver to your po box when u want to deposit.

Hi, Louie. I want to share my personal story with bank deposit box. The contents in my boss' deposit box got stolen. I had to file police report and went to the precinct with her. All the jewelry and valuables are gone. We suspected that it might be the employee but nothing is done by the police and bank refused to cooperate. Iirc it was a chase bank in long island.

My bank won’t allow you to put pms in they’re safe deposit boxes
@losinglouieКүн бұрын
Why, and why would you tell them?
@MatthewCrustlifeКүн бұрын
@ I wouldn’t tell them, it’s listed no bullion no fire arms etc
@MatthewCrustlifeКүн бұрын
That’s why I refuse to use one that and don’t trust banks but what if something happens and I have my box full of items they don’t allow

Probably rules put into place by their insurer
@MrKiwi136056 сағат бұрын
SDB does not insure your contents unless you list the contents. Probablies don't protect you! Insurance doesn't protect you. Insurance rates on bullion, numi's, and jewellery are highway robbery If you want to store in a SDB you MUST use a secure, licenced, & insured vault service. Still not perfect, but as good as you will get. Don't go private SDB you can get screwed like Beverly Hills or all the fraud reports on private vaults.

I LOVE the idea of pirate coins, but seeing a monarch on the back defeats the purpose.

I have 47 face worth of quarters how do I figure spot? I tried formula mentioned in your video but doesn’t look right to me. I took 47 face div by .715 and come up with 65.73. What am I doing wrong?
@cuppacheeseКүн бұрын
Spot is currently $30.50 so take 30.50x0.715=$21.81 is melt on $1 face. Then $21.81x$47.00=$1,025.07 is the melt value of your $47 in quarters assuming 0% wear. Most people will not take wear into account unless they are “slicks” but something you should understand.

Bought a tube of 2024 star American Silver Eagles from JM Bullion and it was opened and one of the coins has an obvious milk spot! I was hoping the tube would be sealed.
@losinglouieКүн бұрын
Thank you, gjf, that is important information. I will pass it along. My purchase, although $5 more per coin, was perfect.
@mattmatt6572Күн бұрын
Yeah sd go's through tubes also and picks out any nice ones they want to grade. In my opinion it is theft. If the tube is not sealed they are second hand coins.

I am not a fan of bank safe deposit boxes for anything but important documents and papers.
@losinglouieКүн бұрын
It's a hard one, maybe put a little gold in the box, plus those papers. I'm right on the fence.

A SDB negative is, you are on bank time.
@losinglouieКүн бұрын
For sure, in a real SHTF, you would be cut off from your metals.
