The Gold Glass feels the smoothest when I do my contact wash after foaming it, like it lubricates the best and it also leaves the paint looking shinier as well. It by far does a better job than the Mr. Pink and the Mega foam at cleaning as well and *you can't beat it for the price. Just thought I'd share. 🤙🏽🤘🏽

I regretted buying a small bottle of Blue Coral. It's so bad that it doesn't even foam up in the cannon. Learned a lesson: if it ain't broke, don't change it. Will buy another bottle of Meguiars next time. Just detailed my car last night with a rare tub of #16 Mirror Glaze. That stuff is hard as concrete when applied. Perfect for brutal Texas weather.

IMO you should try testing the various soaps based on the price. What I mean by that is Adams is $0.48/oz and you use 2 ounces for $0.96/ foam canister load. So lets pretend its the most expensive. So now use whatever volume of all the various soaps at a concentration that equals using $0.96 of that product. To me that is the correct and equal way to compare. In some of those cheap products like the walmart one you could be using what 8-10+ oz. So is Adams Mega Foam really the best based on cost per cannon container load. Hope this makes sense. My bet is one of the biggest differences is how much dilution is in the base product of the foaming agents etc. My guess is if you find the cheapest product that is thick and then use it based on the cost of the most expensive/ounce it will be the thickest. I have some experience in soap making and know what chemicals and compounds can create thick dense and then bubble airy sudsy foam. Find the thickest stuff at the discount or mass bulk stores walmart costco sams and that maybe a winner. But the main point is they should all be used at the same cost amount tonactually see which one is the best.
@noneya1353 жыл бұрын
I really like the idea of this test and the thought that went into this test. One issue I have with the test is the application method. Some of the soaps the gun has been primed and there are no air bubbles in the line. Other soaps there are a ton of bubbles in the line and that's all that is heard. The windows or in some cases the windows and the panels receive missed parts due to the amount of air bubbles. Having the line/soap cannon primed prior to spraying would have made this a much more solid test.

@@imjoshv maybe a vertical frame that slides into a receiver hitch 4ft wide by 2ft tall that you can mount 1ft x 1ft painted panels onto and then they would be exposed to real world abuse and then you would have individual panels for each soap tested? When one sprays a tailgate with a iron remover we see just how much contamination is deposited in that location. As for how to determine the cleaning ability maybe the use of a tilt slide test, gloss meter etc....? Just food for thought off the top of my head

Hi thanks for the kind words! Any soap that is labeled ph neutral will be fine on ceramic coated vehicles! The neutral ph won’t don’t any harm to the coating! There are also a few ceramic infused soaps that would be a good choice for that. The ceramic part of them is questionable but they should be safe on a coated car!

Thank you very much. Your response popped up very quickly when I was watching pH testing of car soap from Obsessed garage. By the way, do i have to worry about presence of wax in the soap? @@imjoshv

@@mesbahahmed8855 It wont hurt it. However any wax that is left behind will be sitting on top of the ceramic coating. So water and dirt will be reacting to the wax. not trying to be a smart azz here, but just a thought about the spot free??? foam rain x. many times in order to achieve "spot free" (no drying???) the approach might be adding a surfactant. example in clinical lab we use a surfactant called tween 80. I think the short version of what it does is remove or diminish the surface tension of the water drops so it sheets off and does not form drop so "you don't have to dry it???". this to me might account for it not being foamy and sliding off (runny), that said it might still act well as a soap ( zwitterion ) fancy name for soap having positive and negative charge to bind dirt and stuff to water to make it work to make it clean. so my point is maybe the spot free might work well enough (runny foam not with standing) and make the water sheet off on rinsing so drying (which I always do too) is easier. I foam up then use a long handle soft brush and rinse, I also use the cheap stuff like regular rainx but I am just homeowner (not professional) car washer for my own cars. great vid. thx.
