The most perceptive statement I've heard from anyone in a long time. He's also the greatest frontal in the history of rock....but such a primadona thats not even worth it in the long run. Check out the Guns N Roses Behind the Music and spend an hour just feeling for what all the other band members put up dealing with him. Also look up Metallica feud with Axl which is very amusing. On the other hand Axl and Slash were both the best at what they do and all their songs are worth checking out.

I think it was more complicated than that. Grunge was killing hair metal already and Axl was desperate to work with guys like Cobain while Cobain wanted nothing to do with Axl. The UYI tour was likely the final nail in the coffin. They bit off more than they could chew and the dramas and chaos of being on the road finished them off. While Axl was an asshole, it's unfair to pin everything on him when everyone else in the band was off their heads on every drug and drink they could get their hands on (according to Izzy, who returned for a few dates on the tour and was shocked by what they'd become).

OMG. Girl, I love your excitement! You keep saying, "I didn't think it was possible". Welcome to the past. People are waking up to the fact that music has been dumbed down on purpose. You have such a long, incredible journey ahead of you. You will soon be wishing it was still 1977. So do the people that lived through it.

I grew up with Guns and Roses I just seen them in 2021 at Wrigley Field in Chicago I love rock and roll I was a teenager in the 70s and nothing in my mind replaces rock and roll Guns and Roses they make you feel alive and it's so exciting listening to axel and the rest of the guys they put on a great show all their music is great and it makes you feel inside alive and yes Goosebumps I feel so sorry for the kids today that didn't get the opportunity to live in one of the greatest heroes and that's the 70s as a teenager. Rock music is the boss you can tell the difference who's singing and there's instruments the music today there's no instruments how about that lead guitarist his name is Slash as far as I'm concerned he is one of the best guitar players in the world I love him I love Guns and Roses try to listen to the song Civil War estranged Welcome to the Jungle yesterday Sweet Child of Mine patience November Rain you could be mine that song was in Terminator 2 and Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted Guns and Roses to do that song for the movie Arnold Schwarzenegger is a big fan of Guns and Roses stick with rock and roll it will make you feel good inside

[Chorus] Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Take me home) Oh, won't you please take me home? Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Take me home) Oh, won't you please take me home? [Verse 1] Just an urchin living under the street, I'm a Hard case that's tough to beat I'm your charity case, so buy me something to eat I'll pay you at another time, take it to the end of the line Rags to riches, or so they say, you gotta Keep pushing for the fortune and fame You know it's, it's all a gamble when it's just a game You treat it like a capital crime, everybody's doing the time [Chorus] Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Take me home) Oh, won't you please take me home? Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Take me home) Oh, won't you please take me home? Yeah-yeah Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Take me home [Verse 2] Strapped in the chair of the city's gas chamber Why I'm here, I can't quite remember The Surgeon General says it's hazardous to breathe I'd have another cigarette But I can't see, tell me who you're gonna believe [Chorus] Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Take me home, yeah-yeah Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Oh, won't you please take me home, oh yeah [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] So far-away So far-away So far-away So far-away Captain America's been torn apart, now He's a court jester with a broken heart He said, "Turn me around and take me back to the start" I must be losing my mind, are you blind? I've seen it all a million times [Chorus] Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Take me home, yeah-yeah Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Oh, won't you please take me home Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Take me home, yeah-yeah Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Oh, won't you please take me home, home [Outro] I wanna go, I wanna know Oh, won't you please take me home? I wanna see, how good it can be Oh, won't you please take me home? Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty (Take me home) Oh, won't you please take me home? Take me down to the Paradise City Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Oh, won't you please take me home? Take me down (oh yeah), spin me 'round Oh, won't you please take me home? I wanna see, how good it can be Oh, won't you please take me home? I wanna see, how good it can be Oh, take me home? Context is everything. This was written in ‘86 / ‘87 and produced in ‘88. One of the most recognizable “rock” albums in 40-45 years.
