Just watched the short about the motor mount. No need to worry. As long as the trans mount is good you should be fine. 🤣 Drove my 2000 GS300 with both motor mounts completely split in half for probably about 6 months without knowing. Needless to say, all mounts were replaced.

Glad to see the Ls400 back. I own one of these not much power but enough to keep you entertained. You must’ve lost some low end torque by running open down pipes but it sounds good !

Haha it's tough with an auto and no handbrake but out of all 318 turns, one of them is absolutely perfect with enough room not to worry about hanging the trunk into the next lane and that was the one!

Ever noticed any issues using the manual gears? I always hear it’s bad to use em unless you’re going downhill
@Unmaleable Жыл бұрын
Yes...better to just leave it in auto and use your brakes. I used manual on the dragon in my GS and I felt a gear kick after putting it back in drive and getting on the throttle...only does it after abusing the manual mode....doesn't kick when back in drive if I use manual mode normally for light driving. One thing I noticed running the Dragon again in drive/sport mode, is you can make the car hang in the lower gears if you feather the throttle open then punch it. Doing that will make it Rev higher in the lower gears up to about 5500rpm. It's a weird feature I think is programmed in but if you tap the throttle then floor it then it sort behaves like a manual. In mine you can also just use the paddle shifter in drive.

3-4-5 is smooth but I wouldn’t rip on it too much in 2nd and 1st. I ended up overheating the transmission from driving too hard. It shouldn’t be a problem if you change oil very often or upgrade cooling since the a650e doesn’t like anything but perfect conditions.

You just need to rev match while the clutches are operating in the trans so they aren’t taking the load of spinning up the engine rpms. There’s no reason using gear selection is inherently more abusive to a trans. It slips way more in auto because it’s shifting constantly.

Why drive manually when you can leave it on auto? Should I start driving it manually?
@CoyWhite6 ай бұрын
I don’t like waiting on the solenoids and clutches to figure out what’s going on so I just leave it in gears so it feels less bleughe ya know
@dxmiano5 ай бұрын
hey i see that replied not too long ago so I thought id ask, how do you drive it as manual? I've only driven manual once and I'm super afraid to mess up the trans as its an automatic. does it shift smooth as it doesn't have a clutch? does L mean 1st gear? id assume whatever number you have it on makes it so you can be on a lower gear but not a higher gear, similar to a modern manual? or am I completely wrong. I'm tired of driving auto all the time as it makes driving less enjoyable and driving manual or semi-manual looks super engaging and fun. oh and one last thing is I thought a downpipe tune is more for turbocharged engines so I figured id ask what the benefit your getting out of it was.
@CoyWhite2 ай бұрын
@@dxmianoNo tune on this car, it’s just open after the downpipe but still has catalytic converters. When I select gears in automatic cars I just rev match with the throttle so it doesn’t lurch when the lower gear engages.
