I really hope this reaches you. I have had this on my list to make but honestly I never made Mac n cheese so when I seen yours I was like yeah right no way I can make it and it look like this nor taste like you said. I am putting my right on the Bible…I promise to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth but YOU ARE THE TRUTH!!! Ok youtubers whoever reads this I promise you via YT comment section (plus I purposely took time to write this) this recipe is OFFICIAL. I put in caps because I can’t emphasize how everything she said is spot on. I made this today on Thanksgiving and man o man o man it’s the best mac n cheese I have ever eaten personally. Now I have had some good Mac n cheese before no lie but this is the best flavor and it’s smooth and just really really tasteful. If you follow the directions which btw you made so simple and wrote it out but if you follow her clear instructions there is no way possible you will fail. This will be my forever recipe. I only added smoked Gouda because I read on others that helps with flavor but overall if we and my family had to rate this 1-10 her recipe gets 20+ 😊 I know that’s reaching but these flavors will reach your soul. Thank you for your recipe maam 😊😊😊

I never leave comments, but I had to this time. I am incapable of making a good mac and cheese - no matter what recipe I use, something comes out wrong. It always tastes like just a block of cheese or too eggy or too dry or too wet or the sauce doesn't stick to the noodles. This is the first recipe I've ever tried that, not only went well, but turned out amazing! This is by far the best mac and cheese I've ever had. Thank you for sharing!

What kind of restaurant? Cus most restaurant mac n cheese is terrible or below average. I order mac n cheese everytime i see it on a menu and im disappointed 90% of the time cus its mostly always bland cheese sauce absolutely drowning the noodles (like baby food) with a weak breadcrumb crust with no flavor, no spice, no smoke..hardly even salt n pepper. And i’ve been to hundreds of restaurants throughout CA, OR, WA, Vancouver, Mexico, Greece, Tokyo, etc…actual chefs aren’t putting sour cream or eggs in the recipe and making a pool of cheese sauce. I’ve seen tubs of this exact style tossed away at family functions. This would be a good recipe for children tho

@@iiihndrxx3239 I followed her directions. Expand up top and it says this: Cover the macaroni and cheese with aluminum foil and place it in oven for 20 minutes. Take the Mac and cheese out after the 20 minutes mix it well. Then add the Colby jack and medium cheddar cheese you shredded at the top of the Mac and cheese. Sprinkle some Cheyenne pepper and some paprika on the top of the cheese place it back in the oven uncovered top rack and let it cook until cheese is gold and brown (20/30 minutes) remove Mac & cheese from oven.

Hi Freddie! I was taught at a very young age how to cook by my grandmother. She taught me how to cook a great mac and cheese, but over the years, my husband and I found ourselves looking for new ways to make traditional recipes. Over the past year, I found myself craving a more "creamy" and flavorful mac and cheese. Before I tried your recipe, I tried two other recipes, and it was a FLAVOR THAT WAS MISSING, and I couldn't put my finger on it. I decided this past weekend to search for another mac and cheese recipe, hoping to find that flavor and found your recipe and YOUR RECIPE was it! My husband said it was the best mac and cheese he ever had, and I found the flavor I was looking for, thank God. 😊 Thank you for sharing this recipe as it reminds me of culture... from the way you seasoned to the way you relayed your message while cooking reminded me of OUR CULTURE. Again, thank you, and keep it up!

It had velveeta and kraft products…good lord. Find ya self some real artisan block cheese and dont degrade it by melting it down into a sauce and drowning the noodles like baby food…toss in some pancetta or smoked turkey, jalapenos, thyme n oregano..anything for additional texture or flavor..maybe have some truffle salt or hot sauce or truff sauce on the side…something so it doesnt just taste like a mouthful of buttery baby food. A recipe like this would barely get touched at my fam gatherings

I enjoyed the heck out of this video! Not only does the mac and cheese look and sound scrumptious, I really enjoyed your delivery. Probably my favorite was needing a moment of silence to enjoy how beautiful the finished dish looked (it really does look beautiful!). But I also really appreciate you emphasizing that if you're going to eat it, add or subtract what you want. I hate fussy cooks who insist you follow their recipe *exactly*, even if it has ingredients you don't like or don't have. I also learned two very valuable tips here: adding butter will keep the drained pasta from clumping (VERY good to know!) and pre-shredded cheese has additives to keep it from clumping. Thank you for sharing both these tidbits!

the roux is there to help it become creamier, and the velveeta has binding agents that help it not go grainy or dry in the end. those are two additions that will change the game!

"My attempts at Mac and cheese has always been dry and crumbly." That hurt my soul, my favorite dish is Mac and Cheese, my mother been making it since I was a baby, my grand mother use to make it with fried chicken when she was alive and I have learned to make it myself. You are 100% correct, the rue is the key to great mac BUT so is the quality of ingredients. You can be cheap but not TOO cheap. You want a mix of Cheese that melts well and one that gives flavor, not just melts well. People sometimes just have melty cheese but the cheese they choose has no flavor, the flavor does not just come from the seasoning, it's the cheese too. And the rue can be heavy cream based, milk bases, sour cream or cream cheese based. All of them work and provide moisture with the mix of cheeses. My mother just did a Gouda and Cheddar with heavy cream based mix. Perfect. Gouda melts well and has good flavor, Cheddar provides the rest of the cheese sauce and flavor.

5:08 You can't find it as a block because it consists of four different cheeses. If you want the four cheese blend in block form, you'll have to buy four different blocks. Fantastic recipe though. It was super smart of you to overshoot on liquid before popping it into the oven. That helped give it the perfect gooey texture when it was done. This isn't the kind of thing I would eat regularly because of how rich it is, but it's definitely something I would enjoy on a special occasion.
