When you play with player, paratroopers need to really hold position untill help will come, one paratrooper in division is useless

Tip: if you really don’t care about your 2w paratroopers, edit the template so that they are unequipped. (You’ll only lose manpower this way) Only reason you’d do this is to scorch earth states and disorganize the AI.

There are few things that can spit damage into bad terrain better than 10 of pure special forces for that terrain type + SF right-right, assuming you gouge soft attack on the support companies. 200 base soft attack or more per 10w eventually.

@@hammotimee Unless my calcs/using the div designer is way off, 5-0 with 4 slots of soft attack stuff and AA should still deal more damage than that to target province. Bit over base 15 SA/w vs base >20SA/w at ~'42 tech, but the difference starts to climb as soon as rockets are added in ~'40. Integrated support is what carries this, the 9/4 are much more competitive in other doctrines than SF. In SF, getting triple the number of highly-boosted support companies per width overpowers the line arty, even before factoring that 5-0 will have somewhat better terrain modifiers too. It's kind of disgusting on farmed generals, it becomes possible to put ~6000 - 9000 soft attacks on a province, even in rough terrain, depending on how many directions you can attack from. I haven't seen divs using line arty that can match it yet, though tanks can outdo it unless they're taking heavy terrain penalties, because tanks can cram over 50 base SA per 2w battalion if you build them for that in SP with howitzers. Takes a bit more research and industrial oomph to field that though.
