Same here. I see crowns as more of an emotional investment into a character rather than a meta one. As strong as a character's burst or normal attack can be, I just can't really be convinced to crown it if I don't find myself emotionally attached to them.

Funny enough, that’s how I work. As a f2p most of my pulls are on interesting do’s since my support team slowly and steady build and have a main for too long makes the gameplay boring… meaning that looking at it with a long term perspective my C6 fully build supports area better investment than a dps that I’ll use til I get interested on another one.

I would like to see MiHoYo make it so Travler ( and playable Fatui characters ) can change elements during combat. We have seen Traveler ( and Fatui ) do it in cut-scenes. It would make Traveler a more relevant character, and then arguably, worth crowning.

For me, crowning is a matter of reward I give to a fave or often used character. But it is nice to have an objective opinion on how you spend such a valuable resource. I crowned my Razor's N long before Eula showed up. He's best boy and my first DPS, so he gets crown. *pets imaginary Razor*

@@thisiswrathspeaking2057 I also play physical qiqi, her best build is pale flame and bloodstained. I have not tried 4 piece pale flame but that is probably good too. I'm personally running 2 bloodstained 2 glad. do not use 4 piece glad because most of her damage comes from charged attack, but if you use her for fighting small enemy you could use 4 glad since charged attack can push the enemy away and you have to run to them and that may result in a dps loss. Maiden is her best healing set

This is sort of unoptimal. It's rare to get an overall 5%+ more dmg artifact in 4 days. While getting a talent leveled up will guaranteed grant you that. Talents are a massive deal even if it doesnt seem so

Razor was my first as well! I crown as a medal of honor for that talent and character, and the boy is an all-terrain who's carried me for low levels and I still use for certain bosses/domains/events, so I don't regret giving his NA a deserved little boost and recognition. Then I could move on to crown my more meta faves like Xiao and Venti and Ayaka. I have the wolfie on 10/12/12 with an Unforged and I don't regret putting all those primos on constellations (all banners with Razor were for 5*s I wanted, thank Barbatos) and the fucking weapon banner either (I liked both weapons that time, please don't yolo pull if you don't)

Top priority: Your favorite character's talents 2nd priority: The character that makes your Top priority stronger It's not about the damage literally lvl 9 or 12 is sufficient enough most of the time, it won't be much of a change to your account. It's about the time and resources spend, and you only gonna invest that much on your fav character and the character that will make your fav character stronger. In a way saving resources is much more valuable than crowning a character for that tiny bit of damage increase.

I agree with you here. It's better to max your DPS characters upto 9/12 and then focus on supports. After you're happy with the supports, you could move onto crowning your favorite character. But as you said, saving is more valuable because of the rapid release of so many new characters.

One thing about crowning Bennet: That increase is for everyone in your party, and also for their elemental skill, no only burst. So while 2.3% may look low, it goes to 3 characters, both their bursts and skills, and even basic attacks! So its a bit misleading to say it only increases a raw 2.3%.

You might want to crown NA instead of E. His plunge deals more than his E usually, so NA levels give more dmg in rotation. On other side, his E(hold) has more AoE so both are equally worth it and depends if u want more dmg when u can group(NA) or more dmg when u can't group(E)

Kahuza definitely is power house difference of night and day with the talents being crowned at all. Even leveling up the talent points in a single seating with all of the prep work done prior sees a massive damage increase. Literally almost of the medallions from the treasure hunters were used all at once to make it happen. There is a video showing a triple crowned Kazhusa knocking out the level 99 event enemy out very easily, while we were struggling to even cause any damage to it. Point in case talent level massively scale his damage output. The stat increase from level ascension likely did not have much of impact on it, I do not think. Regardless I stand my ground based on what I said before; once you get try increasing the talent points one by one and you will see my point on what I mean, I hope.

Even using a basic sword there was more damage dealt per talent level increase. Having the Jade sword with him being level 70 at world rank 3 with the proper artifacts non attack set focused, substats included, equipped to him is just damage defeat in mostly one hit to cause to low level enemies with no resistances. The damage output was immediately noticeably upon switching blades.

Crowning Bennett's burst may not increase Xiangling's dmg by as much as it would by crowning her own burst, but it increases the damage of literally every character you run with him rather than just boosting a single character's dmg, so Bennett is definitely worth it imo

Definitely disagree on Ganyu's Q being level 3 if you have (and use) her. That said this depends on if you play Ganyu purely on a Melt team or if you play her on a Morgana team. In a Morgana team the vast majority of your damage is coming from Ganyu's burst which has insane scaling in such teams when you can group enemies together such that her icicles are AoEing multiple enemies. In such teams a proper rotation is only actually firing ~3 charged shots which makes her normal attack much less important, though I'd still level it to 10 particularly if you run her in both Melt and Freeze teams. In a Morgana team this means that while it might be "only" a 5.8% boost in the raw damage values it will actually result in much higher actual DPS boost due to how her burst has quadratic scaling with number of enemies grouped together inside of it. Considering Morgana is considered the true "Meta" overpowered Ganyu team I'd personally say this really pushes her Q level to being the 1st priority...unless you can't run the team since it does require 1-2 additional 5 star characters, Mona is irreplaceable while technically you could use Sucrose instead of Venti or Kazuha and Diona is the one 4 star of the team. Eula I also strongly disagree on the tier 4 rating for her E skill due to the fact that her E is an integral part of her kit including when comboing to build up damage for her burst. The Physical and Cryo resistance debuff provided by her held E scales with the skill level and that can make a big difference in your actual burst damage aside just providing an extra chunk of damage itself. You should also be using the E essentially on cooldown constantly to animation cancel her normal attack chain before the final attack which means you end up racking up quite a lot of damage with her E as it does pretty solid damage itself. It is however worth note that the lightfall sword created when using her held E (from her first ascension passive) scales it's damage entirely off of her burst skill level and not her E skill level. I'd still 100% crown her burst before her E (and personally her NA before E) but I'd still say to get her E as high as possible otherwise. While I completely agree with the statements about the Anemo supports I'd honestly add some particular notes. Venti it's REALLY not worth leveling his burst much at all let alone crowning it due to the EM changes a while back...unfortunate for anyone who crowned his burst beforehand when it WAS worthwhile. Kazuha is largely the same for his E and Q with it not being much value due to the way EM works with Anemo swirl damage, HOWEVER it IS worth leveling his normal attack (at least to 8 or 9) as the plunge attack part of his E skill scales his damage based on his normal attack level plunging attack value. This can actually get you a LOT of extra damage when using his E which you're doing all the time when using him. I've seen a lot of people level his E while completely ignoring his normal attack skill which causes them to lose out on a ton of damage. Finally Jean in particular it's actually quite valuable to level her E skill (not necessarily crown) simply due to it's insane damage scaling on a skill that you can use very often and also abuse for tons of fall damage. That said if you use her more than just for her burst and occasional E it's also worth leveling her normal attacks to boost her charged attack damage in particular. This also helps if you abuse her charged attack float into an E pull to the ground and then back into the air launch for double fall damage on enemies.

You have to remember that even though crowning a bennet buff might only provide a 2.5% bonus (just for xiangling) when compared to non-crowned, thats for EVERY char in your party so thats very worth it in my book. Even more of a benefit when you are using a char that doesnt use attack like a support Kazuha. Bennet ult also does quite a bit of damage AND the extra healing, while not nessasary, is nice none the less.

Bennett's burst would improve more than Xiangling's damage though, since she snapshots. The next character(s) you switch to would also get a boost. Then you add in the damage increase specifically dealt by the Bennett burst. Still well worth crowning.

@@IamAmygdala if crowning Bennetts burst vs leaving it 1 talent level lower is ever the difference between you living and dying then thats more of an issue with your artifacts/dodging. There's rarely stuff in abyss that actually straight up one shots you that you can't just heal through other than maybe like maguu kenki if, ironically enough, you apply pyro to yourself with bennet and then the boss reverse melt nukes you with his sword slam/slash lol. And in that case i just switch to bennet because he'll probably be the highest hp hero on your team and he'll just tank it for you if you're running hp/hp/hp artifact setup

I crown based on talent usefulness and whether I like them. I like Yoimiya a lot but I can only crown her NA as her Q isn't important and her E has low level up scaling. I can triple crown Kazuha since all his talents are useful.

I realized crowning outside of meta slave perspective is just "giving your favorite character what they deserve" same as waifu enjoyers who are also whales. having your waifu at peak waifu potential C6 R5 Triple crowned is a bliss. If that feeling is something that is worth he money you spent then that's money well spent already. with that said, characters who wants a crowned NA talent don't sit right with me. I don't feel good crowning a talent that doesn't go up to level 13. It feels like they will be paced away by the meta in the future as characters who need a crowned NA are all main DPS'es.

There is one BIG thing you missed here. Bennetts burst affects ALL the skills released during its duration. So that 2.7 percent dmg increase is multiplied many times.

Its not like that tho, if you run bennett in a party where your 3 other party members share the dmg and you buff them all with bennett then your overall dmg increase would still be 2.x%, while if all your dmg comes from a single source (like hutao or raiden) then crowning that single main dps will yield better results. If you write it down as an equation u will see the 2.7% of bennetts buff can be factored out as 2.7% of the total dmg done by all 3 individual characters

I would still include Bennett in priority 1, crowning his burst doesn't improve you main dps' dmg by the same amount. But the thing is bennet boosts your whole team and can be used in almost ANY team comp, that's why I think his burst is still priority 1. You are upgrading a talent that you are going to use on almost any team comp

Nah, they'll keep them somewhat limited to keep the FOMO going and with more characters released you'll never have enough to triple crown every character, but they might sell more with in special packs later on like other gachas do with similar items. But in anyway crowning is way too expensive so it should be used only on characters you like and use all the time.
