We have really enjoyed calling Sydney home over the last several months. What are some of your favorite things about Australia?
@mastcellG4 жыл бұрын
1. No tipping culture. 2. Metric system. 3. Toilet that don’t blocks up easily like American toilet (but gets more skid marks). 4. Almost indestructible Polymer money that can be ‘cleaned’ and easily distinguishable by colour. 5. Sensible gun laws. 6. Politically independent electoral commission, no gerrymandering by individual party. 7. Compulsory voting and Election held on Saturday, not Tuesday, so people can actually go and cast a vote. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6nYqJSwlr2Cg8k. 8. Preferential voting system, so representative is answerable to more diverse voters, not just catering to special interest group. 9. Aunty (ABC) and generally effective media landscape. 10. Not as dependent on private uber-rich philanthropists whose interests may not always align with national interests. Sorry for getting a bit political but these points makes Australia a great place.

Interesting to hear your feedback. Definitely get out there and explore (when you can, safely 😀) to experience other cultures and ways of life! It'll definitely broaden your perspective. And thanks for watching!

Thank you for putting out contents, love your channel. That is why a plunger is always present next to an American toilet but everywhere else (Eu, Aus, Asia) is a toilet brush. And yep, we had to use the plunger when in Boston. Also credit to Americans and their founding fathers who came up with the first democratic government of the modern age.

My favourite thing about Australia: Cronulla; No, Forster/Tunncurry; No, Jervis Bay; No Perth; No, the entire west coast (all 3600klms of it!); No, the desert interior; No, the entire East coast; No, the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas; No, the Royal National Park; No, the small towns that dot our countries road system; Then there are ALL the beaches. You can visit a new beach everyday in Australia and not see them all in 20 years !!! I could go on but I think you get the picture...

Born overseas but have been in Australia since I was 4 years old. I spend most of my time dreaming of Europe or other overseas destinations, then, finally, my wife and son and I will go overseas, have a great time, but I get home SO grateful for living here. It is clean, bright, there is space(!), and we genuinely work to live, not the other way around. I really do love being an Aussie. Although, I am from Brissie, and I must say, it would great to have a 10 degree reduction in temperature! Other than that, it's bonza! There is another slang word for you! I think nothing pleases us more than seeing people from overseas love our country, so thank you so much for these videos. Born Australian, lived in Melbourne my life, am in last year of highschool. Australia’s been blessed to have the pair of you, and you’ve changed my perceptions of the stereotypical American. Hopefully you come back some time, whether to live or for holiday, and the other people who come here are just as sweet and lovely as you two. Edit: As I’m watching, I agree with all your points. Especially 12, one of Australia’s main cultural values is multiculturalism and egalitarianism. We pride ourselves on having many cultures here and being able to share them. Most of the younger generations are mixed babies like myself, and most people speak more than just English. I myself speak Greek, French and Korean as well, due to my family, and at school I learned Mandarin for 8 years. Man, you guys are just so kind, I really hope you come Melbourne or go back to Sydney sometime, we all apreciate the both of you

Starbucks in the States have also introduced flat white coffee.
@twotravelingkings4 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not we're two Americans that aren't fans of Starbucks. But we may have to give in when we're really craving a flat white! 😊
@ilovevegimite4 жыл бұрын
@@twotravelingkings I don't know how you americans drink that percolated coffee. Then everyone seems to complain about it (ok i'm going by tv shows). Flat Whites rule over cappuccinos as there is less froth in the cup so more coffee. You don't like Starbucks, well you are obviously 2 intelligent Americans as i can't understand how they stay in business. I think we are more fussy about our coffee whereas americans will drink anything they are told is coffee LOL
@twotravelingkings4 жыл бұрын
We were told Australia had a strong coffee culture and we were so happy to partake. Maybe because we're American, we can still enjoy a filtered coffee but flat whites are Jenny's new favorites. We had as much delicious coffee as we could while we were in Australia. ☕😍

Two Traveling Kings Maybe I’m a strange Aussie but I enjoyed most of the coffee in the states. Been through about 35 states so far and I can’t remember having coffee that I could call BAD - just different 👍

You pronounce Coogee the same as we do here in Perth as we have a beach here called Coogee like in Sydney. In Sydney they pronounce it Cudgee.

Totally agree, being back in the US, we're missing those delicious flat whites and authentic Asian food that Australia offers. We've been enjoying great Mexican food again and making our own dumplings to get our fix! Hope you enjoyed your time abroad in the US, thanks for watching! 😊

I’m happy you two Enjoyed our country... I’m a little north of Brisbane... back of the Sunshine Coast.. A place called the glasshouse Mountains. Look it up on google I think you’ll appreciate it more than Sydney, but then again I’m not a city person I don’t like any city. Anyway Australia would be happy to have a couple as you two are citizens here. Take care

Guys, Love your laid back attitude towards us. You obviously enjoyed your time here. Please come back after the crisis is over. But please! Check out Queensland, WA, NT and Tassie. Yep I'm Aussie. Abbreviate everything except my home state. Queensland! If I put Qld. That is short for: Quiet Little Drink! I lived in FNQ for over 40 years, (Far North Queensland.) I would take friends out for a sail on our boat, have a Qld with Tlc's. (Tasty little critters.) Once again a shot followed by a beer on a 34 degree C. day. Mexicans, ie. those living south of the Queensland border, basically spoke a sort of different language.

@@twotravelingkings Lol you can spend a lifetime here and not see it all. Australia is a dangerous place to spend time in - you will suffer yo-yo syndrome forever after - and it costs you a fortune over your lifetime. Once you leave Straya - you are initially happy to be back home - seeing family etc - then you start comparing and saying "Oh I really miss this and I am over this freezing weather, So it will build until you must return. Then homesickness - missing family milestones starts to drag you back and you'll go but you have been infected by Straya and you will always keep returning - one day for good - usually because you want your children to grow up here - safe and happy with fantastic accents lol, Good Luck - if you come back sooner than later it'll be less painful. I've seen it happen countless times - the men wont to stay in Oz and the ladies yo-yo.

If you do come back you have to go to a suburb in Sydney called Strathfield it has the best Korean BBQ and Restaurants outside of Seoul. There is probably at least 20 to 30 places to eat there. So amazing. I’m glad you had a great time and come back as soon as COVID-19 is gone. 💙💙💙💜💜

As an Australian, after travelling to the US I appreciate not having to tip and just in general only having to pay the listed price, not price plus tax or even ++ that I came across sometimes or having to add the 20% gratuity. The price is the price!

You should see if you can find the Farmer Wants A Wife. They are bringing it back as a show in a couple of weeks, but it was on for a number of years. Unlike MAFS, FWaW has had 8 or 9 marriages and about 20 children... and the marriages have lasted, some for over 10 years at this point. The premise is they select 4 or 5 farmers from remote properties (farms) and select 15-20 girls for each farmer, who then whittles them down to just two or three that they then take back to the farm to see if they would fit in.... it’s not as confrontational as MAFS, but has a much better track record and the farmers are very real people.
@twotravelingkings4 жыл бұрын
Haven't seen that one but have heard of it. Will have to try to get it via streaming in the US. Sounds a bit more like the Bachelor but with a better success rate. 😊 Thanks for the recommendation!

Two Traveling Kings Just thought you should know... Farmer Wants A Wife will be starting this coming Sunday evening. Hope you can find a way to watch it from there. BTW.... Aussie MAFS is featuring on Celebrity Gogglebox USA. Aussie chef Curtis Stone’s American wife can’t believe it is a real show that is popular here. See if you can find those episodes. You should appreciate the American celebrity perspective... the US MAFS doesn’t have the dinner parties that the Aussie version has.
