Hi Mike . The last time I was in Vegas was 1990 .Stayed at the Golden Nugget. The last trip I took with my parents. 6 months later. He was going on a 4 yr pipeline line job in New Jersey. And him and my mom drove from Ontario to Atlantic City. Before my father's job started. He had a massive heart attack in The Atlantic city Golden Nugget. It was a very sad day. I took a cardiac lifesaver course and they told us that the safest place outside of a hospital to have a heart attack is a Las Vegas casino. The staff is trained to respond, they have all the equipment and the surveillance cameras instantly pick up everything that happens. Ironic. Sorry for your loss.,@@heatherwhatever7714

I used to go to Vegas every year, for like five or six years in a row, and after a while… I ran out of things to see. Which sounds like it’s impossible in Vegas, but I saw a lot of the shows and a lot of the strip. I definitely would like to go back soon, as it’s probably been since 2014 or so that I’ve been there. I’m sure there’s a lot I haven’t seen there now and a lot that has changed. Looks like an awesome trip for you. Hope all is well and you have a wonderful 2024. Let me know if you ever ever get to Ocean City Maryland, you have a free dinner waiting for you and I will take you around to some of the sites a lot of people never see.

We are done with Vegas. Drugs everywhere, prices through the roof, service almost non-existent...Not that place it used to be anymore. Good luck. Best to stay outside and away from the strip and look at the lights from afar.

BTW, back when I would go to Vegas, all sorts of things were free. Free food, free drinks, low cost hotel rooms. They wanted people to gamble then, that was the most important thing.

I can't believe it's $40 to go to the observation deck. And a $5 "service fee" for what? I gotta pay an additional $5 for tapping on a screen because I have to do the work that used to be available for the people employed by the company who would sell the tickets at the booth on the casino floor? They save money by refusing to hire employees, installing a kiosk then demand a $5 "service fee" is deplorable. What a joke. Sad to see what has happened to Vegas. As a local I remember it used to be free to go to the observation deck if you had a Nevada State ID. I know times change, but $40? It'll be $50-$60 by next year so go up there while it's still cheap! 😂

I rode the Big Shot ride at the Strat back around 2010. That's the drop tower ride that shoots you straight up the track. It was unlike any drop tower ride I'd ever been on. The ride itself isn't that high. The ride track is only 160 feet tall. But it's totally deceiving because when you are on the ride and it shoots you up the track and then you look down, you don't see the ride station 160 feet below you. No, because the Strat is a narrow tower, what you see when you look down is the earth 1,149 feet below you!!!

I rode it bout 4 yrs ago! You described the ride so perfectly! But scared me the height! I went there to ride the roller coaster, but surprise it was replaced w Big Shot! Top o The World for sure! Loved Stratosphere! 💜‼️

I always say I am in Henderson next to Vegas because I have never been a big fan but since covid killed it, I want to see the Sphere in person, ride the Big Roller once, and maybe check out the Arte Museum. That's it. After 23 years here. It was fun once in a while. My daughter and I always thought the buffets were the best part lol. Covid killed those off too but they are just starting to make a comeback. I haven't been to any. Life's gotten too expensive for me. In the last year especially. The Clark county museum)best in Vegas Valley according to my family) is across the street from me here. Wish I could see my old stomping grounds more than just in your videos, Venice Beach, Marina del Rey and Malibu. My oldest son died this summer and the prop was broken on his speed boat, but it's at a friend's I'll ask if it's been fixed yet. If so it draws only inches of water I think there's still enough in the Lake lol if it's fixed I'd take you out on the best way to see Lake Mead - going 70 mph! 😅😂 you can't miss it either. Yellow with flames all along it and named Tap This. Trailer painted to match. I don't have a vehicle yet but I can borrow a truck. If it isn't fixed yet, if you come towards Boulder City I'll take you through the Clark County Museum little bitty but definitely the most authentic around here. I enjoy you and your videos so much I would love to try to pay a little back. Do you have an email you give out on KZbin? I'll email you my number in case you have time. Just so you know. You should've bought your ticket for the Strat online. I did it right in the lobby and only paid about $20. This was in October, 2023.

I did a tour of Elvis' suite while it was still the Hilton Hotel (it became a Hilton property after it was called the International). This was before they broke it up into smaller suites for the high rollers. Wow! It was amazing. Huge. Very 70s decor. A MASSIVE balcony - a hundred people could wander around that thing. A full kitchen, living room, massive bathrooms with gold fixtures. It was my birthday. I was living in LA at the time and I had gone to Vegas with friends for a long weekend. They gave me a private showing early in the AM. If was super special!

Thanks for your perspective, the parking fees are a rip off. It's because of the Football stadium, hockey and eventually baseball.. there is no parking for those venues. I think that parking charges, service charges, resort fees, and other tacked on fees are tacky and someone should turn them in for racketeering.. the 2 big casino owners decided to start charging for parking. and it's free money. You should get more than the ability to go in and throw money in machines. I will stay away from Vegas.

F the Strat...useless...loved it when it was still Bob Stupac's budget dream. Packed then, now a den of theives. Robbed at pooldeck and I was kicked out for wanting to call LVPD. Got to car...2 suitcases stolen and a broken window. When I went to security to complain, I was told I was barred from property. Had to get LVPD onsite to get access to my robbed and broken into vehicle. What a SH%THOLE.

I was in Las Vegas in 1975. On my transfer trip by car from Calgary to Houston. Shrimp cocktails of 0.50 or 0.99 $, Free drinks in the casinos, even if you didn't gamble. super cheap dinners or buffets, und cheap hotels on the strip with AC.

He Mike, I think you played that piano better that Władziu Valentino Liberace! 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I also was there in the 90's at The STRAT Tower. Did the Big Shot and the Roller r coaster closed a few month before because one of the wheels came off and crashed into a store below, YIKES!!!! Tupac Shakur, shot and killed two weeks before I was there again! And Last time I stayed at Treasure Island, I took pictures of the Sand's Hotel. Weeks later they filmed Con Air and imploded the hotel. Thanks for memory lane there!

$20 to park so you can pay $35 a head plus a $5.00 per head "service fee" just to go up in the Stratosphere tower. And that is for only 1 attraction on the Strip, and it doesn't even include food! Vegas has unfortunately gone from an affordable escape to a pricey tourist trap in a relatively short time. Sad. I won't be back any time soon 😞

You are a super unique and multi-talented KZbinr!!! I reached pre-virtuoso level on the piano, this is over 40 years ago.
