I Gotta tip!! Use circle hooks. They always catch the fish in the corner of the mouth. Strongest part of the mouth so you lose less fish. Easiest to get the hook out without damaging the fish for return to the sea & ALWAYS use a wet cloth when handling the fish!! Easier to grip & causes less damage again if returning it to the sea. Peace

Those are definitely the best conservation minded tips! Thank you

Fantastic video!!! Really well done!!! Some additional tips might be effectively working structure: map topography (changing depth lines), piers, passes, jetties, cuts, weedlines, bridge pylons, points, rocky bottoms vs soft bottoms (mud, sand, etc.); also: using live bait vs. dead bait, best bait rigs, when to use octopus/circle hooks vs. std. "J" hooks, fishing egg floats and balloons floats. Keep up the great work!

things you missed:- (i) Elasticated bait cotton to secure baits to the hook. Using this allows any bait to be used even if its soft like shell fish and be able to cast it without it falling off. It also means you can start making bait cocktails where you can mix any selection of fish, squid, worm and shell fiah baits (ii) Instead of those tubes, you can use tripods or sand spikes. Sand spikes are like thoses tubes, but they have a pointed end so you can really get them into the ground easily (iii) Use rigs where the baited hook clips to the rig before the cast and releases when it hits the water. The most basic one is known as a pulley rig and plenty of videos about it. (iv) For beach fishing use a 12ft plus rod capable of casting upto 6oz. This means that if you need extra distance because that gulley is further out, its far easier to get distance on a longer more powerfull rod. But you must be able to bend the rod in the cast so find one that is powerfull, but still forgiving enough so it bends when your casting
@oakleydavid76195 жыл бұрын
I also like to fish the first cut at night. No matter how shallow it is. Those big red's at night sometimes will get as close to the shore as possible. I have caught a thirty nine inch red in water that was barely six inches deep at night

Great video. I've fished the surf a lot. This is a personal opinion but you don't really need a super heavy rod to fish on the beach. I'm mean if you are shark fishing yeah you need a big heavy duty rod. But I've caught some big fish on a medium set up. I'm not saying that surf rods are bad but I feel like there is a stigma that you have to have one. When I go we carry 6 rods that range between medium and heavy. We do fine catching bigger fish.

one more tip I think works pretty well is when you hook a stingray and he tries to bury him self in the sand. They can be pretty tough to get loose sometimes. You can strum your string like a guitar and they will usually Lt go in a few seconds. Just pull your line tight with out breaking it and pick the line Sting rays don't like it and will let loose. A talk to a guy that had a really big day on our in deeper water and it would not come off. He took heavy spider weight and some how he hooked it on his line with a swivel. He then let it go all the way to the bottom and started pulling g his line up and down bouncing that weight on the back of the ray. The ray didn't like it so he let go the bottom to move. Just be sure and turn the wires on the weight down.

I started watching this and thought to myself "if he doesn't bring up fish bites than he doesn't know what hes doing." #5 my man! Fishbites 1 of 3 must have when shore fishing.

Dude lures work haha I caught a 34 inch snook on a flair hawk flairs are amazing same with buck tails
@BeachBomberFishing6 жыл бұрын
Yea I know they do, I fish with lures 80% of the time. In all honesty some lures are ment to get YOUR attention, money, maybe the fish. Very very very rarely should anyone spend over $10 on a lure for inshore game imo. I've caught multiple bull reds over 45 inches in a $3 spoon.

Ive been checking out the surf rods by ocean master. What do u think pairing those rods with seigler reels. Need ur advice bro, advice b4 dropping almost $1000 bills on 2 combos lol

+Albert Cervantes i think they would be great, especially the 12ft. They really revamped their new Ocean master's that's for sure.

Albert Cervantes that sounds like a good combo. Only thing that would make it better would be Avet Reels instead of Seigler/Truth/Release/whatever they will be called in 2018. -Surf Fishing Elitist
