Thank you so much! I've got a few trips booked so the travel vlogs should happen at least once per month if I can keep it up! 🙏

Thank you for visiting my city! I love my city. Moved here after high school from the suburbs/country side, like most inhabitants do. You will soon find out that it’s a national sport to hate on Oslo, and everyone saying to visit Bergen instead and see the fjords. Norway is more than the stereotypical fjords. And to only go to the west coast as well as northern Norway is a disservice to the country as we have everything from tundra, deep forests, ancient forest even that goes back 1000 of years, sandy white beaches, hills, fields, mountains, we have it all… yes Bergen is beautiful, but lacks all the things one can do and see in Oslo, especially nightlife and shopping. And if you find it too expensive stay away from the touristy spots, and ask a local where to go. Especially avoid the kiosks. There are several supermarkets/grocery stores that are cheaper, especially immigrant shops. Btw “pappegøye» means parrot in English. Also tap water is safe to drink as we got some of the cleanest water in the world, and everyone drinks tap. Even what they serve in restaurants is tap. Of course bottled is fine too, but a waste. And it actually tastes the same as the tap. This was last year right or last fall no? As Oslo doesn’t look like this now🤣🤣🤣 Just ice and snow. Fun fact: Did you know that all Brits, including the Irish, are as high as 40% Scandinavian, mostly of Norwegian decent new study (2019), shows due to the Norse settlers that went to the British Isles? And that English is in fact a western Germanic language related to Norwegian? Old Norse was similar to Old English, before it got changed.

@@kilipaki87oritahiti Really? People hate on Oslo? 😳 I thought it was fantastic. Seeing the kids walking home alone in the dark safely, always being able to get a table in any cafe or restaurant, everyone out exercising no matter the time or weather. It just has a great vibe and the pace of life felt less hectic than the UK, especially in major cities. We had a 100km drive from Sandefjord airport and saw woodland, bits of snow, mountains etc like you say. Ahhh okay, parrot cafe! The tap water was extremely clean. We can drink the tap water in the UK but better to put it through a filter first. Yes, I went with my dad in November 2024 so this was filmed a few months ago! I need to do a DNA test because I’m convinced I have a lot of Scandinavian in my blood and my grandparents are from Malta 🇲🇹 so it would be an interesting mix! Thanks for commenting! 🙏

I live in Oslo and I have more than been to Holmenkollbakken. At 9:28 at the upper-right of the video, you can see some cables. Those are ziplines and you can actually fly down yourself. It's a rather amazing experience, although rather pricey. :) But people jumping down on skis is insane to me too. There has to be something a _little_ bit wrong with anyone who has that idea. :)
@HOSHJUGHES4 күн бұрын
@@jeschinstad It was really impressive! You’re joking? I’m not very good with heights but that would be terrifying. I totally agree, you have to have 1 or 2 screws loose to want to jump down on skis! 😂

@@HOSHJUGHES You should visit Holmenkollen in the beginning of March during the Holmenkollen Ski Festival. On the last day, there's both a ski jumping competition and a 50km cross country ski competition. The whole stadium as well as everywhere throughout the forest is packed with people cheering on the athletes. Last year almost 120.000 people gathered on the last weekend of the festival, with 60.000 to watch the 50km.
