Great video. As you said, the best actual army would be a balance. In my mind, even when things don't happen exactly the same, there's still a lot of valuable information/tactics to see just in maybe some great experiences and bad you've had with each troop type, what to avoid, etc. Great stuff as always. I'm not sure if you mentioned it, or if it's even true, but you might want to mention if your engineer has that +50 percent ammo perk for attacking sieges b/c that's huge when you're on offense (since most def archers are unlimited). Just a thought.

A good point to mention for sure!

my favourite siege attack strategy at the moment is to field all my trebuchet , build towers and ram & break down 1 of the walls & leave the other intact . then delegate to sergeants for first half. this way infantry advances to the gap but holds until the tower and the ram are both in place . my archers pick off archers on exposed walls, & a lot of enemy archers end up behind the cracked wall ( so not firing on my advancing infantry! ) ride around on my horse taking out archers for a bit, then just before my infantry charges I ride through the gap & basically act as shock/disruption, occupying archers attention & opening up the enemies formation so my boys can get in the side, then ride to the other side ( disrupting any units by the gate on the way ) to help my tower boys out. gate comes down during this and inantry at gate gets three way pincered

Love it - I've been doing something like this in the Aserai campaign - SO many tactical options, makes the game a blast to play and figure out.

I would argue that it is the same way in RBM as well, although ranged as a whole is less powerful in RBM. Archery needs high skill to really work and throwing weapons don't do as much damage, although they are good at destroying enemy shields.

Yeah I've noticed that and while that's realistic it does unbalance the game fairly substantially

As soon as TW give you option to retreat and come back without any penalty with refilled ammo. Than you need only Archers/Crossbow with shields also valid in combat.

Yeah, too bad that gimmick exists consistently..

I'm curious if the lower end heroes with skirmishers would do as well as the same lower and hero with archers... The main reason I'm wondering that is because of all of the really nice javelin perks, I'm okay with the Archer perks but really the javelin perks are killer... So somebody just starting out maybe they're in the 15th or 17th level, simply don't have more than the first three or four perks, it should be interesting to see if the javelin beats out the bow in Castle attacks and defense. And using the bow correctly long distance, in field conditions might that also make a really big difference... Personally I would weigh the high end javelin and hero ahead of the Archer even though I suck at using javelins and much prefer archers, but at lower end I'm not so sure... Having said that, it's always best to have a mixed unit army

I think you're right - BUT javelins do take a LOT more skill and micro to use well. Archers are the easiest units in the game to use, just set in the right position and leave 'em be.

I prefer to siege with unsullied, giants, and white walkers. 😂 I highly recommend trying out the Realm of Thrones mod.

I usually put archer in a line at a 45° angle to the entryway of the siege tower. If you get them there before your infantry does, they put a cloud of arrows on a shield wall before you have to worry about it. usually I can get 60% of the fighting force Eliminated before my soldiers even climb up the ladders

6:59 I'm an American, but I still call hand papaya but it's proper name, instead of your made up football name. I mean seriously, it's shaped like a papaya, and everybody runs around with it in their hand. I had a Aussie girlfriend who used to call it American rugby. I'd be okay with that))))

Fian Champ are skirmishers and you can’t change my mind.

Their shock troops... skirmish implies a mid range option. Crossbowman could be considered standard infantry. But their not skirmishers or shock troopers. I would like to see that mod though. Shooting javelin from bows.

Concur, but I do prefer the POWER of skirmishers like wildlings, more impact in a short period and I also prefer shields on my skirmishers to deal with enemy archers...
