Tip for smaller wrist size: My less than average wrist size can pull off larger watches if I use a padded strap; the padded strap provides a slight illusion that my wrist is bigger than it is. Thank you again, Armand, your channel is a luxury
@GordonLF7 жыл бұрын
Good for you if you think you can pull it off, but I'm afraid that your advice sounds like recommending a guy who is size S wear a few sweaters under his jacket so he can give the illusion of being built up and could could wear a size XL. A padded band only adds to the bulk and makes the whole piece look even heavier on a small wrist.

I think the tudor black bay 36 and omega sea master reduced should also be included in the list, but another great video and excellent choice of watches, thanks Armand and please keep up the great work
@denniskwok76137 жыл бұрын
Neither of them are tool watches dude.
@GordonLF7 жыл бұрын
The Sea Master is not called "reduced" (That would be a Speedmaster) and while it could be considered a tool watch, clearly it wouldn't qualify as a "best value" watch..

I am a Damasko fan. Own DS30, DA43, and DC58. All are superb watches with quality and detail far above their price bracket. Possibly the best value for robust tool watches. Sinn is a awesome brand too. I own 856 UTC Tagimented, which in my opinion is one of their best models. Much like Damasko this is a watch you want to wear to the end of the world and back.

Thank you for another informative video. I have small wrists but have found that this can be an advantage when wearing larger watches as the overall smaller circumference of the watch when worn does fit under a shirt cuff.

All extremely good choices. Great video. While 37 mm is somewhat small for me, my every day watch now is a Sinn EZM 3F, (41 mm), fits the bill perfectly. Thinking about one of the Marathons next!

I love tool watches. Many look beautiful as well.

Very good video, Armand. There is one extra aspect you must analyse when you talk watches for smaller wrist: lug width. Most times a narrower lug width makes the watch more suitable for thinner wrists. For example, the Sinn U200 has a 18 mm lug which is not common for divers but makes that model very elegant on the smaller wrist.

Would you consider the 556i Sinn a good option?

I've watched several if your videos, very well done. Would you ever consider doing a video (or maybe two) on ladies watches. I LOVE the Hamilton khaki field automatic, but even at 38mm, it's just too big for my wrist. 😔
@wika19847 жыл бұрын
Fantastic selection! I never would looked at marathon Quartz until you mentioned tritium tubing. It would have been great if you had "alternatives" to you choices that don't like a particular style. One such is that most of them are dive watches. I love dive watches however I shouldn't be wearing them to an event night out. I know your video was about "tool" watches but there are some I'd like to mention: 1) seiko alpinist: it does it all including look different from the others. 2) Sinn 556i: although not as tooly as your selection this one can be worn in the special event as I mention earlier. 3) damasko 105 or 343 since they don't have the bezel to make it seem like it's a "diver".

Great picks Armand. I've been eyeing that Marathon, but hesitate because of the height. Wonder if it might be a bit top heavy?
@NoOne-ki3bm7 жыл бұрын
I really like the Sinn. I've always been a little surprise how little love it gets; however, I think the cost is just too prohibited for a beater watch for many to want to experience it.
@denniskwok76137 жыл бұрын
Also, Sinn aggressively increase their prices every September. The 556 used to offer great value, but not any longer at over £1100 on the bracelet. However, the 556 and U200 are far from being mere beater watches.
@NoOne-ki3bm7 жыл бұрын
Dennis Kwok You are correct about those Sinns being more than just "beater" watches. I view both as great "everyday" watches; however, the 556 is defiantly the more versatile of the two since it can be dressed up. Whereas the U200 does a better job filling in as an everyday watch for those that work outside the office.

I had a 556a and I just couldn’t love it, it has none of the sinn patents and tech that we hear so much about also the lume was simply pathetic compared to the Japanese let alone the CAKED on superluminova muhle puts on the sar that I have. And the value just isn’t there it’s no better than the Hamilton Khaki aside from the higher grade ETA in the Sinn, at about 3x the price of the Hamilton I couldn’t justify keeping it. I hope sinn stops the price hikes before they wind up in IWC territory.

I've been enjoying my new Hamilton Khaki with H10 movement. Wish it had better lume.

May I ask where the info about the magnetic resistance of 1000 Gauss for the Sinn U2 comes from? Because they do not mention that anywhere on their homepage.
@ArmandTheWatchGuy7 жыл бұрын
+nirfz: You're right, this information is no longer on their website. However, they used to state that it exceeded DIN8309 (60 Gauss) specifications and was anti-magnetic to 80,000 A/m (1000 Gauss).

im new to all this; what is considered a "smaller" wrist? thank you in advance
@ArmandTheWatchGuy7 жыл бұрын
+Th3SundanceKid: I would say that this is a very variable point. In the 1950s, a small watch was under 30mm (which is tiny by modern standards) but today, we would see 40mm-44mm as a conventional size. This makes watches of under about 40mm relatively small.

ok. thank you!

Nice video. However, from your list I am not a fan of any of these watches. The only watch I would consider if I had to would be the Sinn. Under the Sinn price point there are other brands (Swiss) that in my opinion are far better.

Hello . I was wondering if you can PLEASE do a review on some very cheap Price point but I think fairly well-made Invicta pro diver and grand diver and maybe some seiko under 200$ and if you could make them both the Invicta and the Seiko of the automatic variety. I love to collect watches but I do not make enough money to buy $500 watches I just am on able to do it on my budget maybe once this year I will be able to I think I am going to buy an Orient star retro grade for about $350 I really like your channel and I am a new subscriber keep up the great videos I would just like to see a couple videos here in there about watchers under $200 thank you again

damasko is nice but chronograph is not usable because it has no lume....
@denniskwok76137 жыл бұрын
The 38mm Hamilton Khaki isn't as suited to small wrists as it should be, due to it's overly long lug-to-lug distance. I also wholly disagree with the Damasko DCxx being suitable for smaller wrists, as it actually wears bigger than its 40mm size. You'd know this if you'd tried one on. It's also quite a thick watch.
@budoylanzon18524 жыл бұрын
I do have a 38mm HKF auto. My wrist circumference is 6.25 inches and the watch sits perfectly on my wrist
@drnick402 жыл бұрын
Any Valjoux 7753 movement based watch is thick. For that matter all chronographs aside of El Primero or the manual wind models like the Speedmaster, etc. are thick for offerings under $10k. However the DC5X is as compact as it gets for a Valjoux 7753 watch and thus is acceptable for individuals with smaller wrists. If you have $6-7k and want thin chronograph, buy the 39mm Zenith Chronomaster. The best value in integrated automatic chronographs ever
