thank you for your wonderful tutorials and recipes...just one question, are your tablespoons 15 or 20 mls...it seems they can vary and I have both, would it be possible to use mls instead of spoon measures.... or is there somewhere on your blog that show you cup and spoons in measurements as I know US cups are 240mls, but metric cups are 250mls . I am in Australia and for some reason, our spoon measurements can vary depending on which set you buy. ?? thanks so much.. want to make vegan cookies and vegan icing for easter cookies for my daughter's vegan boyfriend.

If I remember correctly it's something about using cow bones to bleach the sugar. Buy no one expects for you to not eat cane sugar that is silly.

Just the way it is processed. Regular sugar is processed with bone char from animals.

Please write this recipe in grams, especially for the flour. I followed this recipe and it was way too wet at the end. The amount of flour must be wrong.

Mine came out super wet as well. But I added an extra 20g of flour and it came together thankfully. So 450g flour instead of 430g!

Tried these and they were not it. The dough was too wet and oily and couldn't even transfer my shapes to the sheet without them falling apart. Wish measurements were in grams. Don't know what I did wrong. I used a KitchenAid, that's the only difference

Cane sugar and granulated sugar are always vegan. There isn't any sugars that are animal products

I agree that sugar is not an animal product; however, depending on where in the world sugar is processed, animal bones (bone char) are sometimes used to filter sugar, especially sugar from sugarcane. For some vegans, this is enough to consider it non-vegan. It's a good practice for those following a specific diet to check the label and product information. I hope you have a great day.

Not all sugar is considered completely vegan. A lot of refined sugars go thru the process of whitening where bone char is used. A lot of true vegan don't consider this sugar vegan. FIY sugar doesn't contain bone char but it is used in the process. Hope that clarifies things. You can also find lot of info on the subject online.
