The truth is this feratta has been recently equipped with cables in the two passages where there were none. The first one is, indeed the vertical chimney to the exposed ridge at the bottom of the ladder connecting to the main wall. Second is the climb to the plateau proper where there was about 200~300m of free scramble. Btw, beautiful cinematography. I wonder how did you manage to land the drone in the middle of the wall!
@TraintoSummit21 күн бұрын
@@eugenpaval That explains why the guidebooks talked about unprotected sections that weren't there! I landed & launched it when I found a place I can stand & also be clipped in... Tbh it was pretty scary 😂. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful shots! Just curious as I am preparing a climb - Some route descriptions say that a few parts of the climb don't have a rope, but probably those were older descriptions. Did you note any spots without rope?
@TraintoSummit4 ай бұрын
@@skillerfreerideexperience Thanks for watching 🙌🏻 I remember reading route descriptions and thinking exactly the same, I'm sure that I even mentioned it as a hazard in the beginning of the video. It was all protected, I think the only section that had a bit less protection was an easy chimney, but I only reflected on that after when I was thinking 'where were the unprotected sections??'. It's a fantastic via Ferrata, have fun!

Hi guys, awesome video again! We got caught out on Tofana Di Mezzo, in a huuuuge thunderstorm, this after VF punta anna onto VF Gianna Aglio, Very very sketchy, not a fun experience, but makes us stronger 🤣🤣🤣 At one point my head was buzzing from static! Crazy times! 🤣
@TraintoSummit Жыл бұрын
Oh my GOD!!! That is Viv's worst nightmare! I'm happy you got down alright... We were actually meant to do Punta Anna the following day, but do to the weather conditions we did another Ferrata that was shorter (video out in 2 weeks). Thanks for watching!

@@TraintoSummit Viv may have killed you if survived it haha. There were 3 other guys doing same route, we met at car park and were laughing at the whole thing 🤣 VF are so good there, just the weather is one extreme or the other

I couldn't agree more both on the Viv comment and the unpredictable weather in the Dolomites! 😂@@connor9209

I thought correct VF technique was to have your carabiners in opposite directions to reduce risk. Maybe I was wrong.
@eugenpaval21 күн бұрын
@@borty6394 it is a misconception. The feratta carabiner would open only if there is intention. Attaching them opposite to one another takes longer to attach and detach and in narrow places may make the one facing the wall harder to intentionally open. Also, clipping on VF is more of a psychological thing to do. Usually the cable serves for climbing purposes not just insurance and the consequences of falling in. VF can be dire, much more than in traditional rock climbing. DO NOT FALL in VF! DO NOT ATTEMPT GRADES ABOVE YOUR LEVEL OR IN SKETCY CONDITIONS!

@TrekkingandHiking19835 ай бұрын
what is the difficulty level of this ferrata?
@eugenpaval21 күн бұрын
@@TrekkingandHiking1983 it is considered a 4C on Graham-Fletcher scale or a D on the Austrian scale. Not hard but it should not be underestimated. Lots of exposure, long, first wall is north west oriented so it is shaded may be iced after colder nights. It is a popular route so there is a fair amount of people attempting it and there cold be rock falls.
