"That's it for todays video"...ah, hello? You went through a ton of SS over 6 months of logging and intricate note keeping and filming and recording and dealing with bad makeup days and "that's it"? How do you keep doing this kind of quality content to end with an "THAT'S IT"? I have balloons and whistles and confetti and it should be yours! Party in a box is what you deserve, and a trophy AND chocolate. I have been following Angie for ages it seems. It was she who got me onto sunscreen (finally) with her often inserted, "I didn't take care of my skin when I was younger" and phrases like "sun damage." Besides furthering our ability to look like we've always had healthy (sunscreen protected) skin she's helping us save our $$$ being our 'tester' for us! Reviews (written) on the product pages are nice but skin varies and also one person's 'mattifying' may be another person's 'dehydration' so I really love her thoughtful (and succinct) commentary in addition to her close-ups and actual testing. I LOVE how she gets to the point and because she DOES get to the point - as opposed to being in front of the camera for showy exposure - I find myself never jumping ahead and watching the entire thing. So a big ol' huge THANK you Angie!

A AB Oh me too. My thinking was if I didn’t burn then I don’t need it. Just baby oil for the body glow. 😩 worse yet I had oily skin and I worked outside so every hour I would come in and wash my face with the dish type soap near the sink to cool off and get it oil and sweat off. What can we do try but to try to undo all this mess.

Bought the Make P:rem sunscreen because of this video. I got it on ebay for $16 CAD each, which is a great price for good quality sunscreen. I love it. It really does disappear, even faster than the Japanese Biore sunscreen I was using. It's so great that it's a physical sunscreen and it has a PA++++ rating. Makes me feel like I am getting the best possible protection and yet I still look like I have no sunscreen on.

Have you ever tried Elta MD clear skin sunscreen? Dermatologist recommended it for acne prone skin. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen and I actually love it (I hate sunscreen) but this is nice. There’s a tinted one too.
@annettecastiglioni33666 жыл бұрын
Wendy French does it have any scent at all? I get migraines from sunscreen smell, and very allergic eyes. Also have you tried the tinted version?
@wendyraye6 жыл бұрын
Annette Castiglioni I don’t think so, not to my recollection (I’m out right now). I’m sensitive to smells BIG time and I don’t detect any. My eyes don’t water, like with just about every other sunscreen or smelly lotion. My daughter has sensitive acne prone skin, can’t have fragrance, and loves it too. Maybe see if Amazon reviews addresses that exact question. I guess I don’t smell anything and I’m extremely picky, but I don’t want you to get a migraine!:) The tinted is wonderful too. Not heavy but has a bit of coverage (your skin but better). Not as much coverage as IT CC cream but that stuff is extremely smelly for no reason (citrus oils).

Wow, what a marathon! Kudos to you for going to such length for your viewers....I don’t think I‘ve ever seen someone compare so many sunscreens in one video - very helpful! The only one I‘ve found so far that works for my oily skin is the Nivea water gel spf 50 which I order from Japan. But that’s a chemical one, of course...but really awesome, just a clear, watery fluid that doesn’t leave any stickyness/oiliness behind. Would like to add mineral sunscreen to my arsenal...but boy, the good ones are really expensive. I wish more shops would offer a selection of sample packages one could buy and try. Why oh why do they not do that? It would be so easy to manufacture and they could even make good money on it, selling them for a dollar each or something. I would rather spent 20 bucks for 20 samples and then settle for the one I like most than spent 20 bucks on one bottle I might not even be able to actually use on my face.

When mineral sunscreens have such low concentrations of zinc oxides it only really protects against uvb and not as much with uva1 or uva2. Meaning it protects more from burns, but not wrinkles.
@aleenr44256 жыл бұрын
Ana JS Unfortunately I'm still on the hunt, but I'm thinking about making my own sunscreen. You can buy non-nano zinc oxide powder and I was going to mix it with my favourite face cream. But you have to be careful not to inhale the zinc powder and you have to find out how much to mix in. I'm still researching lol!
@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh51186 жыл бұрын
If the sunscreen says it's PA++++ can you assume it will have good UVA protection? Because I understood that was what the PA rating meant.

I love the Australian Gold, but have been reading that 4% zinc oxide is not sufficient to prevent sun damage. They recommend a minimum of 15%.
@SL_LCY6 жыл бұрын
Karen1Nicola I am a non-professional and confused on the zinc% too. 1)I read from Dr. Denis Dudley(founder of cyberderm) believes zinc percentage matters, the term broad spectrum does not indicate the uva protection level. 2)I also read nowadays new shapes of zinc oxide were created, those can provide better protection with lower percentage. Do need someone know about this to explain 😂

@chersilveira89446 жыл бұрын
AGREE!! In fact I QUIT watching Tati a couple of years ago because she seemed to get REALLY convinced of her "status" and as you noted, just seemed lazy and self involved. When I watched a video that I had specifically searched an item review on and the WHOLE video was her BRAGGING about HOW many boxes of PR this company sent her, then when it came to the item I had searched, she held it up with a couple of items in the line that were packaged similarly and said OH how CUTE, I don't know what this is but I think it is a REALLY good definer for around my brows but I wouldn't use any of this. I'm VERY picky and this just ISN'T UP TO MY USUAL OR WHAT I WOULD EVER USE, I use REALLY NICE PRODUCTS"! It was for IT cosmetics, not exactly $1 store! The "item" was an undereye color corrector packaged in a small pot, she tossed it aside not even bothering to READ the label or use it for it's purpose. I ended up having to buy it myself and found it to be REALLY good! But the "queen" deemed it "NOT worthy of her uppity standards". She was believing her own hype WAY too much, felt WAY too entitled and acted OVER privileged and THAT was enough of that for me. Angie is so down to earth and normal, she tries EVERYTHING of any $$ level and works SO hard for her followers! There is no comparison.

Hi Angie, Thank you for this video. I am happy you put so much emphasis on sunscreen. Very informative. I am a pretty educated consumer but sunscreen keeps tripping me up. How can these have such different % of active ingredients and be similar SPF ratings? Does it have to do with how the formula stays/sits on the skin? Do you have an opinion, or have you seen any studies, on micronized vs non-micronized mineral sunscreen? The micronized products look so much better to me but I am not yet convinced they are 100% safe. What makes sunscreen water resistant or not? Is it dimethicone? Would water resistant products be more comedogenic? What ingredients protect against blue light from devices? Do you think the gov will begin regulating for blue light SPF? Any studies on that you have seen that you think are worthwhile? Please always advise people to check if sunscreens are reef safe before swimming. The coral gets killed/destroyed by some sunscreen chemicals and it is truly tragic. Thank you!

i do the same thing because its so drying, I always wonder if Im making it less effective by doing so. also lately I've notice that i been getting more wrinkles( im only 34). I hope its not because the australian gold is drying out the area around my eyes or the oil is diluting it .

Hope somebody can inform us about this issue, but the oil should be moisturising, thank you for letting me know that I am not the only one with this problem.

Stumbled upon your video when searching for good mineral sunscreen! Finally someone who reviews things that actually matter! Very in depth and relative! Thank you soooo much

What kills me about this is how many sunscreens aren't water resistant. What is the point?! I live in the PNW! Also, I'm a sweat-er lol.

My favorite is bare minerals prep step its mineral spf 50, liquid and smoothing great under make up,so basically has it all for me. I used Australian gold for a while but recently stopped because if the dryness and the smell started irritating me more and more.

So glad I somehow found your channel. I’m only 20 years old but am starting to get into skincare, especially anti aging. You are the best reviewer on KZbin that I’ve ever seen. Thanks SO much !!! Amazing and quality content

I have tried many many sunscreens and the best for me is La Roche Posay Anthelios 50 TINTED. The BEST. I super recommend it!

Great video! I’m an Australian Gold fan however I’ve been trying out the Laroche Posey sunscreen and despite the slight white cast, I like it. Now what do you think about a hat video?
@lynnrowfo18566 жыл бұрын
Susana, Laroche Posay also makes a tinted mineral sunscreen - same SPF 50 and works great on its own or under makeup!!

WOW, just wow! Your best sunscreen review ever! All the facts, comparisons and time lapse results on a huge range of products and condensed into 15 minutes. Sheer genius! Toward the end, I began wondering how all these new brands stacked up against your previous faves Australian Gold & Hydropeptide but, of course, you anticipated someone out here would want to know and you answered! The Professor should never be underestimated. Thank you❣️

The Australian Gold is too drying for me, so I use it only on my neck. I’m interested in the Make Prem though as long as it’s cruelty-free, so I’ll have to look into that. I’m currently using the Murad City Defense one, and I really like it! I don’t wear liquid foundation though, only powder foundation and only sparingly for light coverage. My skin is very dry so I’m guessing some of those that didn’t work for you would work for me. However, I feel like mineral sunscreen overall is drying for me as my face is flakey by the end of the day in some spots (I wear sunscreen everyday), especially in the winter! It’s frustrating...thanks for all your hard work with his video!

Hi! I also have the murad city mineral spf. It is a bit drying also right? Mostly at my eye area. But i have not found any better mineral sunscreen yet. Do you still like this one? Ot found a better one.. ;) Many thanks

Thank you so so much for this video! I’m blown away by the amount of work that went into this, between the filming and the researching and testing. I’m looking for a face sunscreen for my mom who’s turning 60 soon, and this video really helped narrow down my choices down to a select few for her to try. Reading reviews for facial sunscreens can be so misleading and overwhelming, so I can’t thank you enough for making such a thorough, informative and concise video ❤️❤️

Angie, I too love the MAKEP:REM sunscreen. I thought I might mention that this does not cause a flare up of my acne rosacea or any sort of irritation. I’m 50 and have suffered with terrible flare ups of P&P Rosacea since I was 45. Most mineral sunscreens I have tried caused a flare up within a couple of hours of application. This sunscreen also helps keep my flakes at bay. MAKEP:REM Cicapro Cream is also an excellent moisturizer for sensitive skin. Because of my rosacea, retinol use has been out of the question for the past five years. After using both the sunscreen and cream for a little over a month, you would never know I have rosacea.

I love that you do this every year. I still use my Australian Gold sunscreen every day but did notice it was a tad drying, even on my oily skin. I think I might try mixing it with the other one you mentioned from a couple years ago. I always think that's a lot of money but taking care of my skin shouldn't be something to cheap out on. Thank you Angie for helping all of us stay healthy and younger looking.

I have tried so many mineral sunscreens and I looooove bare minerals. It's the only one that leaves a matte finish and no white cast for me... I'm gonna have to try some of the ones you've mentioned.... but I don't wear makeup so....

Hi, do you still wear only mineral sunscreens? And what is your favorite one? :-)
@tamathacain23156 жыл бұрын
Yes! My jaw dropped when you showed the number 1 because I just started using that! (Dr. Dray had mentioned it right when I was looking for a new one). Literally just started using it this week, but hadn't tried it under makeup so I wasn't sure I liked it. I'll have to do a full face of makeup today to try it! Thanks!

major thanks to you for introducing the Ulta Beauty mineral sunscreen. It’s the only sunscreen I use now (I don’t wear makeup). I usually buy it when Ulta’s having a buy 2 get 2 free sale and it is definitely worth it.

Thanks for your hard work! I used the Australian Gold for awhile. I found it thick & somewhat drying. Finally broke down and bought the HydroPeptide. Love it! Since it's so expensive, I only use it when wearing makeup. I use Australian Gold for when I'm home, pool, gardening etc.

The Australian Gold has been a game changer for me. Not sure why but it keeps my under eye area hydrated all day and my concealer doesn't crease anymore. So glad. Love that it's tinted too for no make up days. No pilling. And I think it's good under makeup. Thanks for the recommendation.
@dinikrasniqi45416 жыл бұрын
a white appearance is not a problem, you can mix it with your foundation or with a tinted SPF product. I always do that too. And if the product is too greasy you can always end up with arrowroot. I do this with all my solar creams.

I love both the Josie maran spf 47 tinted and untinted versions. She does a lot of sales with free s&h on her website and I managed to get two luxury sized of the tinted version for less than $40. I think you should check it out one of these days! But thanks for this series, Angie. It’s so satisfying to see people promote spf and the actual correct amount.

I tried many mineral SPFs because my skin is getting dark spots from sun. So far I really like Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 in gold package (light-medium color). It looks grey when you apply on the skin, but it adjusts your skin tone color in 2 mins. It is Korean Brand and you can purchase from Sephora $39.00. It is great for dry/ normal skin. Another favorite is Shiseido Sports BB Spf 50 water resistant. It is tinted and light liquid formula. Try to find in Marshalls or TJMaxx because it is discontinued formula. I do have tinted Elta MD UV elements SPF 44, it's ok, but little thick formula. Not my fav.
