I literally just started this journey of EDC. It started with Olight back a few months ago and then I came across your videos. I actually went to Lowe's this past weekend because they had a Gerber set for 10 bucks. Starting slow and cheap. My Micro Maxpedition is full of cheaper Gerber tools but hopefully one day I will be able to get the good stuff like you carry.

I have used a Nite-Ize #3 slide lock biner for 5yrs, love the quality, the design had a few issues and just this month I upgraded to the Nite-Ize G-biner #3, and so far it solved the issues I had withe slide lock.

Lowes around my area carry mag lites. The XL50 is a great light. Three AAAs with three functions..... They're 30ish bucks and built like a tank. I own a few and they're all excellent. Enough so that I keep them in several go-kits. They also have the clip on them for pocket or shirt carry.

welcome back, Im glad the little guy is better. for inexpensive edc flashlights I still prefer the maglite solitaire, single aaa led they run less than $7@ walmart. Everytime I try to pair down my keys the ring grows, I have a ginormous set of rings in my daily bag and the "essentials" ring with house and truck keys still has about 10items

You can put the keys directly on the Niteize Carabiner and skip the Chicago screw and the little key tool. However, your solution would keep the noise down as the keys aren’t as loose. I actually picked up a couple of the carabiners after I saw this video. Thanks!

I have a couple Kobalt items from Lowe's I really like. A small screwdriver set I use to work on computers and a utility knife. Both have worked well so far and have lifetime warranties so if something happens to them I can take them back in to Lowe's and get them replaced.

The leatherman wave + does come with a pocket clip and a lanyard ring they’re detachable I thought that it didn’t when I bought mine and bought an extra pocket clip and lanyard ring for nothing so if anyone’s on the fence they do include a pocket clip

I would like for you to look at that multitool key seriously, if it is good steel it can honestly bail you out of a jam. I have carried an old school Proto flat head on my keys since high school (over 30 years) and it has come in handy on several occasions.

@@BestDamnEDC Good video...thanks for going over the Free P2....I have a Wave for work and a Rev for EDC because it was cheap. I didn't realize the P2 was so nice. More than I would like to spend, but I might have to invest in it down the road to replace the Rev (pass that to my son). Please do a video about modding the P2. Or videos about modding other EDC gear. That's something definitely of interest to me if I can make things that are already pretty useful into something that is more useful, I'm all for it. A quick thought...and I know it is not available at Lowe's so I'm sure that's why you didn't want to save the money on the Leatherman because I agree on the pocket clip thing...but for $9 you can get a pocket clip that works on many of the Free line of tools. Definitely want to see more stores with this idea. You probably don't have Menards down there since that's more midwest, but that would be cool if you are ever traveling. Otherwise - Target and Home Depot for sure. I'm sure there are some other good stores for this, but I can't think of any off hand. Last thing....thanks for some more flashlights to check out. I currently have a variety...I have the Fenix E18R/LD02/LD05, Olight S1R Baton II/i5T EOS. Along with multiple other brands and styles, but so far those are my normal ones. I'll have to check out the Lumintop. I have a few that put out a lot of light, but I've decided that isn't needed - would like something small with 3 modes that is rechargeable - something under 10 lumen, then something between 30 and 50, and finally something in the 100-150 range. I'd like to see the lowest setting last for a minimum of 24 hours and the top setting last for at least 60 minutes.

It seems like all the ones I can find are either for power point presentation or designed to actually burn things and bigger than my biggest Flashlight. I've had that flashlight, it's terrible. I did find a Luxpro inspectors light (I think it was called) at Lowes that I carried for several years. It had a push/pull focus for wide/narrow beam and cost about $15. Not bad.

Love this video, would like to see different stores and what you can get. This is extremely similar to my EDC due to monetary reasons, going to school and my wife got sick. My complete EDC for the past 8 years is from Walmart and Home Depot and I have options. I finally and able to spend a little more money for my EDC and am looking to do so, but this is my current carry and I need a new flashlight first. Knife Ozark Trail folding knife 2.5" Gerber folding knife combo blade 2.5" Flashlight Milwaukee pen-light (for portability - not bright) Mag Light Mini (for work but it is huge in my pocket) Also Sharpie Pen (the clicky one) A 150lbs SWL carabiner A wallet (usually the one my family buys me for Christmas)

Definitely would have tried to find one of the smaller coast lights. I know the Lowe's closest to me carries them. They aren't great but not terrible either. I actually carried a hx5 for a couple years before I bought my favorite Olight. I'm kind of annoyed that you can't get the S1A anymore.

All the lights on that aisle were huge. Like 1.5” in diameter or more and 3-8” in length. Noting that I would consider pocket sized. We looked for a good 20 minutes and even had an employee help us look. They were also out of a lot of knives they normally carry. Just missed truck day, I guess. 😅

The Coast G10 is a better flashlight for the same price. It has more lumens and a nice lensing effect. Lowes must have been out of stock. I would have gone with the Vice Grip plyer that you liked and also the Craftsman utility knife rather than the multi tool. I always feel tool challenged with the multitool. A mini tool bag might have doubled as a wallet. Good job on the keys. For the next video try Ace.
