the "sometimes I lose my zest for life and I'm trying to get it back" is literally what I've been struggling with for 2 years. For the past two years til now, I feel like I'm not really alive. Time just passes by while I watch it. Even when something exciting happens in my life I spend the whole time stressing myself out by trying to "live in the moment" and end up not enjoying anything. It's a real struggle and it's very comforting to see that I'm not the only one struggling with this c':

The past has gone and there is nothing we can do about it except let it go. We often remind ourselves or are reminded by others how we haven't been productive in the past but always remember everyday is a new day and every new day is a new opportunity. If you miss a subway you take the another one. But before anything forgive yourself for the past and heal. It's never too late to start. You might think life is too short to be taking time for yourself but life doesn't have be long it needs to be big and you can make it big on your terms and at your own speed. Even when you are stuck you are very much alive, just take the time to rest. Don't be so hard on yourself. Sending love your way.

I’ve just realised after like 2+ years of following her what makes Ashley’s videos so good, especially her vlogs - she manages to make ordinary life look both real and idyllic. her content reminds me of a studio ghibli film, romanticising the little things in her life and making me want to do ordinary things because it looks so comforting and peaceful. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasocial_interaction?wprov=sfla1 Edit for clarity: Please don't get so wrapped up in fake relationships that you forget to take care of your real life. KZbin prioritizes content creators who try to build these kinds of "relationships" because they keep you on the platform, and most youtubers just create the kind of content they want, completely oblivious to the harm they're causing. So please take care of yourself and look for relationships in the real world! ☺️

The whole mask-wearing thing in the US is so weird. In Australia, we have been recommended that only healthcare professionals and sick people or people who are really high risk get masks. Anything other than an N95 doesn't really help you, just means you're gonna touch your face more... And *touch wood* we've dealt with the pandemic pretty well compared to the US where it seems like such a shitshow. It seems horrific over there. :(

@@maijakelly8335 In NYC you can't go into stores without one. I wear fabric ones with filters & also disposable ones. It'll help keep me safe from others that are sick & vice versa incase I'm sick and don't know it. Our spit travels, and can stay in the air for hours, so something is better than nothing. I love how Australia & New Zealand did a great job. Unfortunately you see who's in charge in the US so we're f*cked. I've ordered some fun fabric masks on Etsy & other sites, so if I have to wear them, at least make it fashionable with Marvel, Disney & other designs. :)

I look back at my writing and the way I captured my ideas when I was younger and there is so much more vibrancy to the, as If I had a zeal that I somehow now lost. Feels good to know I am not the only one to feel like this from time to time. thank you.

Reoz how do you know there's a deadly virus out there? please don't tell me it's because a well dressed newswoman on a television set told you so? Do you have a degree in Virology? have you ever personally conducted a postmortem on one of the "covid19 victims" and analyzed their tissue/organ/cell/urine/feces sample under a microscope in your own laboratory? without empirical laboratory evidence you cannot simply claim that a biological organism exists.

Covid-19 is a lie. I mean, it exists, but the numbers are being exaggerated. No one knows anyone who even has it! People have been testing the covid test kits on fruits, and they are testing positive! Literally! And, Japan is fine. Ain’t nothing bad happened to Japan. It’s just an excuse to keep people in their homes! But seriously people, don’t take my word for it. Do your own research. Because god knows we all have the time and energy to do actual research.

You need to stop comparing yourself to others. I know it sounds soooo cliche, but its true. For example im 24 and basically i only have my degree (in a month or so) and if i compare myself to you then i would think that im a piece of shit and ive wasted my whole life. But no. My life is different, ive met different people, grown in a different envrironment etc. Someone else success doesnt mean that your success is any worse. Hang in there, its gonna be fine.

I tell my husband this all the time! You grow up a certain way, and with access to things others may not have. You may always try to compare yourself to your best friend who is the same age as you. But you took different paths and had different opportunities in life than that other person. You can’t compare your achievements, or where you are in life because of the different paths you took. It’s definitely hard to get in that mindset. I still compare myself to others, but try to get in the mindset of how we took different paths and had different opportunities in life. I’m 26 and still trying to get into this mindset. Hang in there everyone 💜

Seems to me you're using your time in the best way. You have a healthy lifestyle - cooking, catching some sun, thinking, laundry, a few more creative activities like painting and gardening. In times like these, it's the little everyday habits that count. Keeping up with life is already a big thing. Please don't feel like you've wasted your time while you could be visiting, etc. You've made your brand new flat a home, and that takes a LOT of time and effort. A lot of people move into places, get caught up with work, and 6 months later they still haven't found the time to hang a poster on a wall. Your place looks lovely. Once quarantine is over, you will have all the time in the world to discover New York. Also, don't worry about productivity, for artists it's easy to feel guilty at a time like that and envious of seemingly more productive people (when really they're not, everybody just magnifies the little things they manage to do). No need to pressure yourself with stuff like "I'm stuck inside, I need to upload more than ever." You're a beautiful person, and you're gonna make it just fine. Thanks for making me smile :)

She mentioned not having much of a role model on youtube but she is exactly who i aspire to be. Out of all the ppl i watch shes the one that makes me feel comfortable in myself and my abilities. Everything she says is smth that i take to heart and agree with tremendously.

Agreed! She's so real, authentic, and unapologetically herself. I aspire to have her self-confidence and determination. She tries her best to make slow progress to love herself more, be more productive, be kinder to others. And I adore that. She's a flawed human being trying to be a better person but also embracing a lot of the flaws she cannot change, and I couldn't ask for more in a role model!

The lyrics at the end "never alone, but always depressed" are ringing in my head even though I finished the video. I'm quarantined with my partner so it feels like everything should be awesome but the isolation blues just won't go away. Just know you're not alone. Thanks for making this.

I relate to this so much. I'm with my partner too and even though I am grateful to not be *physically* alone, I still very very emotionally alone with no one that really understands how my brain is working right now. Isolation just brings that out so much more.

I feel like the “who you’re quarantined with” is def like a lose lose for everyone. Like no matter which situation you’re in (with people or alone) it’s too much of a good thing. Both have their pros and cons and both would be a solution to the other lol. I’m quarantined with my family and although I love being able to spend time with them I am desperately craving some solitude. Missing my alone time and feeling trapped in a house with 3 other people at all times lol.

When I tell you I teared up at the friends “visiting” their friends by standing outside the apartment and saying hi. I can’t even imagine it. Actually the whole city of NYC looking so bleak and empty. I live in NC and it’s definitely not like that here, even when we were all supposed to stay inside, the streets were still pretty full. I haven’t seen my friends face to face in a while, but I’ve seen a lot of people, so it’s so surreal.

Dude it is def way more quite (and slow) but I wouldn't say it's bleak. People are still going outside in NYC. People are being really conscious of social distancing but the streets are still filling with masked ppl taking walks on sunny days. Restaurants are open for pick up. Parks, including Central Park, are open and filled with ppl (ofc still at a safe distance). The city is hurting but it's resilient!

“We’re never alone but always depressed.” That lyric hit me hard watching this video while doing my laundry too. Storytime lol: I was in the US for an internship but the company had to send me home because of the pandemic. Sad thing is I wasn’t able to go straight home to my city and see my family because there are no domestic flights in my country. Now I’m stuck here in a place I’m unfamiliar with, living in a house with people I barely know (still appreciate them for taking me in) and spending most of my time alone, thinking about what ifs (mostly negative what ifs, very unhealthy lol). It’s just that I was happier where I was at before it all got taken away. Ashley’s vlog makes me feel less alone with the things i’m going through. Ps. stay safe everyone!

I've been alone in quarantine 51 days by myself because of recent heart surgery and an autoimmune condition. If I get sick, I'll probably die. People have been so helpful with grocery shopping and picking up my RX, but they never stay more than one minute - even if we're both wearing masks and are more than 12 feet apart. I walk my dog and so I see other humans, but I don't have face-to-face conversations. It's really getting to me and today is my birthday. I've invited my friends - and everyone on Facebook who sees my posts -- to drive up and honk or wave at me. I've also asked for someone to bring me a balloon. Initially, since I live on the second floor of a two-family house (nobody lives downstairs now), I thought I might throw cake at people who come to wish me Happy Birthday (I am 66 today), but then thought that might come across as hostile. So instead, I've made a big colorful sign that says, "It's My Birt'day" and I'll just wave during my calling hours, which will be noon to 2 p.m. (it's freakin' freezing here in Connecticut). I had to laugh about what Ashley says about showering. I have a piece of paper taped to my bathroom wall so I can check and see when is the last time I showered. I can kind of tell by how gross my hair gets. My record without a shower so far is 10 days - eeewwwww. But usually I shower the morning of my phone-call appointment with my therapist, which is once a week. Because we can see each other, I also put on makeup, earrings and a fresh outfit. Otherwise, I find it difficult to put any effort into my appearance. But listening to Ashley, I feel like I want to shower and dress up every day from now on, because it might help me from going completely bonkers. Once it actually turns into Spring, I think I will wear only dresses - I have a LOT. And hats (also have a LOT). Ashley, as always, I find your honesty very refreshing. Thank you for making these videos.
