It's noticeable that in addition to their fresh ingredients, most of Vietnamese food dishes are served along with a heap of fresh herbs and vegetables, which is quite healthy and many cuisines in the world don't have this quality.

I'm glad she put salt to kill the eel, she is definitely a pro. I saw a video of someone trying to cook eels by putting all of them in a pot under a fire stove. All the eel jumped out of it vigorously. They tried to cover to top, but it sounded like there's a bomb inside and all the eels pushed the cover to jump out. Oh god, that wasn't great.

My favorite moment of this episode is near the end when Sonny is holding the shell up to his ear. As a kid, my parents always said if you hold a shell up to your ear, you can hear the ocean. I never realized how widespread that idea was. It was super interesting to see the lady declare, "You can't do that. It's not an ocean snail." It was cool to learn that same concept exists in Vietnamese culture as well!
