Hi. You're an absolute magician. I have an HP Deskjet 3070A that hasn't been used for several years because I have others. Today I installed a new set of cartridges and only the red printed. After having used your super method (I had to repeat 5 times because everything was really dried out) IT WORKS!!!!! I don't know how to express my gratitude, especially taking into consideration that I live in a small village in the Pyrenees of Catalonia and we still have the lockdown. Thanks, thanks and thanks. And it’s a save! Used this on my HP6968. In addition to cleaning by squirting etch from the top down, I also soaked a paper towel in etch and put it underneath. These steps were repeated until no ink came through, then everything worked fine. BTW, I was sure my (refilled) cartridges were full. The clean print head function would run, would print pages for one session, then one or more colors would stop working. I was going to try new cartridges until I found this, so THANK YOU Best printers.

If you don't have3 a spray bottle or syringe type setup, I experimented with using a flexible straw that I dipped into the bottle of Isopropyl alcohol, covering the end to establish a mini-vacuum, and then taking that small amount and directly releasing it on the printer head as shown in the video. Hope this works!

on about my third attempt to clean it. The method works to get the IsoAlc in position. Mine must be incredibly clogged. I just want to say that in other earlier videos, owners of HP Printers were able to use a release latch that allowed you to take the carrier out of the machine itself. Then people figured this out and they did what they always do- take away a useful feature in hopes of selling more printers and service to them. I will never buy another HP product based on this asinine decision some dipshit made and made this problem even harder to address. The older release method let you simply run the carriage under the sink to clear the issue.

The quality diagnostic page prints very sharp and bold but the black box is blank .The cyan magenta and yellow print in full color. using the copy function page comes out blank.The print function is not much better. Any ideas??

I have this particular issue with the same printer. when i print, there are these horizontal lines come out. some of them are lighter color and some dark. when i print a picture on a normal paper setting, everything comes out fine. But when i do it on the Glossy paper setting, i see these line. i have been printing photos for over a year but this particular issue just happened recently. i even went back and printed the exact same photos i did before and to see if the print comes bad and it does. i did the printer clean setting and even tried this method from the video but the problem is still there. i even replaced new inks. do you know what might be the issue. two odd things, one i mentioned earlier that it only happens when i change the settings to glossy photo paper (this is when the printer prints the picture really slow) but not with the normal paper print. other issue is that when i printed two of the exact picture, the horizontal line are on the same pattern and same place.

This worked perfect.... On a side note...REMEBER to pull the power cord after you open it to get to printer head... I forgot to unplug and about half way through this process the printer decided to cycle thru and all my paper towels were all trapped it was so funny yet a disaster at the same time... I immediately unplugged but then couldn't move the head hahahaha

Hey, i cleaned the printer as per the video and i tried to print but i got blank sheets. so i clean it a bit more and after that i got 4 sheets with light grey print (printed as b&w). After that nothing came out again. Any ideas what's wrong? Do i need to keep on clealing?

Thanks for details. I was really frustrated because the message on the Printer was that I had a faulty print head. The clever video on the machine showed that it was the yellow. In the end I changed all the inks ad then found your U Tube. With this Covid19 I cheated as I was unable to go out and didn't have any alcohol and used other means. It seemed as if all had been flushed through but not so. I will have to get some of that magical liquid as it came up with, "One or more cartridges appear to be missing.

I tried this solution on my printer. I own a hp6520 and black ink is not working although the cartridge is full. The papers used were soaked with lot of ink and after clean sheets from the process of repeating it twice. I set the printer aside and after 30mins I turned it on and black is still not working. I left it and came back after 30mins and my printer doesn’t receive the power although my cord is connected. What might go wrong?

Run a printhead cleaning after using the cleaning kit, that way the ink is pushed back into the system.

If u are referring to that sponge looking thing on the floor of the printer, to the far right, mine was soaked w/black ink also. I later learned that is an overflow are. So I suppose it’s serving it’s purpose. I still cleaned mine out anyways.

You will need to run the "Printhead Cleaning" (in the Printer Settings under "Maintenance") to push the ink back into the system.
