One of the things I love from the original Smash Bros is the visual effects of the impacts from attacks. There is a sort of slow down effect that happens where both the attacker and their target stop moving for a split second before the latter goes flying off. Gave the fights a little more "oomf". Additionally, things like Samus' fully charged beam actually causes an explosive effect at the area of impact, contrary to later Smash games where the ball of energy abruptly disappears when it touches the target.

The attacks definitely had a larger impact but they also had a larger launch too which may be why it had such impact. Something that I do miss I say

He could've been working on the concept of Kirby's Return to Dreamland while making Smash 64, and had the idea for the sword during that time. He does love his Kirby after-all it's his pride and joy.

It's a common misconception that the original game was "Dragon King: The Fighting Game". It was actually "Ryuo: The Fighting Game", and Ryuo being a location in Japan. People just mistranslated it as "Dragon King".

Ryuo is short for Ryūō-chō which mean Dragon King. So I think it was a proper transition actually. It directly translated by Nintendo as that in an the interview

I doubt that Zero Suit Samus would have been in Smash 64 since Zero Mission wouldn't even be announced to the public until 4 years after SB64 came out. The would have had to have some insane access to other game development before their own game was even a success to not only get the knowledge of ZSS, but also to be allowed to implement it in the game.

My theory on the 4 scrapped characters: Instead of the four unlockables we got in smash 64 I think these 4 scrapped characters would have been the 4 unlockables originally, but due to time constraints and all that jazz, they probably got scrapped, i think bowser would have had Luigi’s slot, Marth had captain falcon’s slot, dedede had ness’ slot and finally mewtwo had jigglypuff’s slot

I wonder what Bowser and Dedede would have looked like as low-poly Smash 64 fighters.. Or if having larger, detailed characters like those in 4 player mode may have been a bit much for the N64? (Granted, Donkey Kong made it, but his design might have been easier to simplify.) Edit: I see the fan game Smash Remix managed to include Bowser, so looks like anything is possible given enough time!

9:54 I think that it most likely would've been more of an Olimar/Alph or Bowser Jr./Koopalings situation where all of the Star Fox members were just costumes that Fox could choose. I'm pretty sure Luigi was one of the first Echoes.

I think that Kirby's unused voice clips may have been used for a cut SSB1 Final Smash involving the Crash Copy Ability. That would make more sense than using the Cook Copy Ability pre-Brawl.

Version differences I might since that might tie into Cut Content. Clones... that depends on how it worked within the development cycle, so it's a possibility. I still have to do more research and scripting for a Melee episodes as this one would be a much bigger episode.

So uh.. this is just Beta64 and tetrabit gaming's videos with some theories/filler.. I'm a bit disappointed considering the only reason WHY people like cut content is because of the nintendo gigaleak giving us more unused info. It's the sad truth, but there are bigger and better videos talking about all of this that we already know, that are older and have way more views.

I don't have really have real filler in this I say. It was straight facts with maybe one or two theorizes in there. Also Cut Content has had long popularity prior to the Gigaleak too. And so what if some are bigger and more popular? Viewcount and subs don't count for everything as people have to start somewhere as they did too. But unless I discover something absolutely new (which there isn't), this is being presented by me, in my way, in a way that people have enjoyed which is in great detail and style I would say too. It's understood however if this wasn't what you wanted as you want absolutely up to the minute new info and quite frankly some things are not going to be that as I document and not look for new undiscovered stuff. I'm a video editor, not coder or someone who can hack their way through. People find things while organize and document videos on them. Thanks for watching even if you didn't like it or don't plan to stick around.
