2 game slots could mean: - You can easily swap between two games without unplugging it, and you can also keep your favourite game in all time - Games could add additional content via a second cartridge to expand the previous games, like new levels, if the games are allowed to read from both slots ...probably other creative ideas as well

Funny thing: Flipnote Studio was what killed my DSi and also what brought it back to life. When I discovered Flipnote Studio, I absolutely loved it! And I wanted to go online and see other people's creations in Hatena. At the time, like many other kids, I owned a flashcart (piracy was huge on the ds) but I didn't know anything about how it worked, so when Flipnote asked me to update in order to get on the internet, I did it. To the latest version. Short after I realized the update was blocking the flashcart from working and I had lost every game and save. But I could get in Hatena... One month before the service was shutdown :( Fast forward 6 years later I finally find out there's a way to hack my system! And it just needs Flipnote Studio, which came pre-installed in it. Done everything and now I have a cfw running, and my very same games and save files I backed up from my flashcard so much time ago. Too bad I broke the L and R buttons destroying staff ghosts in Mario Kart (those buttons are made from egg shells).

2:35 the duel slots would be helpful for any game that requires a 'trade' of sorts. Pokemon, Megaman Starforce, etc. It could also open the way for more types of old save bonus in regards to sequels or bonuses, like how a bunch of DS games give you an extra if you have a certain GBA game in the slot. Finally - aside from the downloaded games - having two games would increase its mobility. A bunch of people bought stuff like mini backpacks or the like to hold DS cards on the go, being able to switch between two games without having to cart something easily stealable like that would make it easier to play for kids or travelers...plus variety.

I tried it but it’s most of the same only boring MVs and RPs. Nothing like the how it used to be when flipnote first started

@@Beta64 Like everything there are better times than others, if you limit yourself to watch flipnotes and not interacting with others it could be quite boring, just saying. I've done a lot of friends there and we had a lot of fun together, even now ;)

GgAboveAverageGamer I can kinda relate to what you said because I had also tried it, I mean at first it was okay but I just got bored. I’m just that one lazy animator who uploaded one animation from 2017-2019 because I didn’t have the motivation for it 😂

Maybe a cool thing to hear about Flipnote Studio's European and Oceania's side of things. It blew up so big that people started communities with one another. From the comments section people started making ''chatrooms'' which a lot of people spend hours on (I would be talking to people until midnight) People just knew each other and were able to grow with their new found knowledge and best friends for life. Even though everyone was so young at the time, it made sure that people would pursue something in art. People like MdM, Hinto and many others were able to show the potential of the application to it's full limits. And many young people are still making animations to this day albeit on better hardware. Kéké was already getting a lot of praise at the time with his Kirby animations (which he exclusively did before the pigeon and fox animations that blasted him into fame) I am glad I was part of it, and many people like myself wouldn't know what they would be doing right now if Flipnote Hatena wouldn't exist. It became bigger than the platform and app it self, it became one big happy family that people still hang out with to this day, both digitally as real life. Everyone was ready to make the shift to 3D, and we saw a lot of potential for it. But alas, with online dying, Kéké was the only animator to use it (to this day!)

the last time i was this early for a new Beta64 video, he was busy trying to force memes into his videos. really liking this quieter and sarcastic form of humor, this represents Beta64’s content better. keep it up.

Flipnote studio was always my favorite part of my old DSi, and I am infinitely disappointed that they never actually made an updated version for the 3DS like their little demo showed.

I thought the DSI had the I in its name because of that whole "i" trend thing people put infront of their names and such on the internet like Ijustine

I have a feeling this channel is underrated and that this should gain more subscribers and views, you have good videos that have put into alot of research and video editing and that's some hard work for videos every week so for many other videos but this one gains alot of steps from researching to grabbing old beta footage to explanation to editing into a 20-40 minute video which is very impressive. Keep up the good work!

The DSi is so nostalgic. I wish I didn’t sell my 2DS because it had my DSi games on it but the 2DS was so clunky in my hands that it was just collecting dust and I had to sell it.

7:42 Surprised to see Petit Computer show up. It is a wildly under-appreciated hidden gem, imo, but only if you found the communities surrounding it. It's impossible to describe the experience that is scanning 244 QR codes to download Mega Man II PTC.

6:17 i coulda sworn the dsi was bigger than the lite- as a kid, i had a ds lite and my brother had a dsi, and i remember it being a lot bigger? i also remember liking the heaviness and the size of my brother's ds (when he let me touch it, that is) and idk why, but i honestly still prefer the bigger, heavier feel for whatever reason ( the bigger buttons and screens also helped me hit the correct buttons with my uncoordinated little child fingers lmao)

Before I got my first phone, the DSi was the only way I took digital photos. Insult the camera quality all you want but that's what we had, and we loved it!

"Of course you heard about the DS" But my entire class doesn't know what a DS is and mistakes it for a 3DS because we're in 7th grade and to young to remember.

DSi: where there are no privacy settings to let you deny camera access so any game can just record you and send it to their server via Nintendo WiFi Connection!

I think the dual game card slot is so you can carry another game with you without swapping or leaving it in your pocket where it inevitably gets put in the washer (Don't ask me how i know this)

I’m so glad they pushed the dsi sound to have to be as a launch. Setting up Wi-Fi on the dsi early on was really a pain in the butt if your house wasn’t updated with a router and they had these weird dsi wifi adapters for your pc I never could get to work. I fondly remember putting music onto my sd card as a kid to play on my dsi, it’s not like I didn’t have mp3 players but that thing came with me everywhere so it was really useful.

I remember playing with my dsi in 2012. I played club penguin, and a looney tunes game. 3 years later it broke, and was a bit disappointed. 3 years after that, a funeral happened. It's not the same.
