I would say it was the new Raids. Question is what caused them to be delayed till now? what was the ISSUE. Just wish they have the test servers test it thru all the events to see if it will conflict with other events. Which might cause one or both not to work.

I'd have to disagree with the "righting wrongs" statement. Yeah, they improved the game and so on and so forth, we can talk about that all day, but the quality control is, for lack of a better word, crap. There's always an issue with events in some way and either a lot of their resources are being directed towards other games or it's all because of the holidays itself or something else (old engine, lack of devs, etc). This year we had so many bugged events. Yeah, it happens to a lot of other live services but their answer to this is basically "Yeah, stop it, but let them aquire 1 free gift wrap stack in the Atomic Shop a day instead!" and even then they say it's bugged before it goes live. Now it just turns from earning it to just... sitting there mostly, either getting it through the shop and using resources to craft it or the Santatron. Grabbing a gift and getting legendaries was the main reason we play these and now it's practically gone.

They've already advised that the event won't be fixed due to the small amount of time available. The wrapping paper is to mollify players because Bethesda don't want any bad publicity when they have the press junket tomorrow around the ghoul player option they'll be demoing. Holiday scorched will now be gone for this year as of 19 December 11:00 ET. At a guess, most of their senior devs have probably gone into holiday mode and they probably have other staff for testing etc. on leave (or laid off if contractors/temp.) Lots of IT companies that employ contractors for jobs like testing will lay them off before Christmas as they don't want to pay for holiday. You might have one or two devs on deck as part of support arrangements but they'd switch to skeleton crew until some time in the new year. You'd need to have devs who understand the code and the problem that can code a fix, have it shipped to their pre--prod environment (this would be separate from the PTS) then have QA testers test the fix - with a good number of staff already on annual leave it's been thrown into the too hard basket. As it's not an exploit that gives any sort of advantage to players it doesn't have a high priority for fix. Realistically this should have been caught well before it made it to production which suggests their testing/QA methodology has substantive issues.

@@velvetaeon2774 Nope, just someone with decades of experience working in IT, knowing how companies operate and how a well run IT operation is 'supposed' to run. Regardless of what you may think, live service games are just seen as an IT operation where the players keep coming back to throw money at companies for atoms, crowns or whatever means they use to part gamers from their cash. The sooner you realize that you are viewed as one step up from someone with a poker machine addiction the better. Companies dump most contractors just before the holiday break to save those extra bucks, then late January when things start to ramp up start jumping up and down as they need the staff on deck again. Most experienced contractors plan for it but it's still a kick in the gut if your contract ran into February. That is why they couldn't fix the issue -staff away/laid off and the time taken to test a real fix (not just increasing spawn rate) would have eaten too far into the event timeframe. A well run studio with proper testing and QA should have picked it up before it was made live to the public. Yes, they have a lot of legacy code, the original team are long gone but that is why they should be taking more care. Event at FO76's peak with the new season in the last 30 days Fallout 4 has had had a higher player count. Shipping buggy events and updates will drive players away and potentially kill the franchise all because the company doesn't really value it's customer base. FO76 could have easily gone the way of Concord were it not for the fans that kept faith and who are the ones who have kept the franchise going.

That's the problem with DEI centric hiring. Bugs from developers and balance issues are always a problem with these people. This new raid basically completely ignores anyone who is a melee player, it also is purposely designed to break bloodied builds "because reasons" and is a wall against people who don't use power armor and aren't stacking consumable buffs. The first and last boss fights are completely untargetable with melee. Explosive weapons are largely just a nuisance item that body uses because they aren't efficient or effective. The obnoxious effects of the Tesla cannon literally prevents people from seeing what's going on on the screen when spammed. I literally went into a camp yesterday, and the camp had a nuclear briefcase from nuclear winter, beeping and all. The fact that there are obvious hacked items and exploits galore says a lot.

They could give the extra wrapping paper in the atomic shop for those who want the plans etc and keep the holiday scorched in the game for those who enjoy hunting them. My game was glitching out pretty bad earlier with things not spawning correctly and I was falling through the map repeatedly. I was still able to fast travel so I used that to stop that when it would happen. Also, all NPC vendors I visited were completely out of caps and the legendary exchance was at 0 as well. I tried jumping servers a few times but it kept happening. I logged off and tried about an hour later and things were back to normal. I did get a screenshot of falling through the map so that was fun.

They didn’t actually have to cancel it. Now they’ve just taken away our ability to collect legendary‘s. Leave the event going and still give us the daily gift wrap to make up for the lack of packages. Instead they took away the whole event. And they absolutely didn’t have to do that. Leave the event give us the daily bonus. And then figure out how to fix it so next time it works. Instead they prove once again that they hate us. And I have always always said this. The developers of fallout 76 absolutely hate the player base. They destroy every fun thing we have by either taking it away or nerfing it Or not fixing bugs that have been there since day one. But I honestly think they hate the player base and they don’t want us to enjoy the game. Time and time again they’ve proven that. Anyway, that’s my opinion you can fight me, but I swear they hate us.

I killed 5 for the daily challenge today, and I did actually get 1 gift. That was from a 3* - the only today, all the other was 1* and yielded just scrap legendary for me(not worth scrapping for the effect).

Increasing legendary scorched spawn rate is great - IF - legendary scorched consistently dropped a legendary item. Not sure about anyone else but since Treasure Hunter weekend I've noticed that not every legendary drop has a legendary item. I've even had an issue of a 2 or 3 star legendary enemy somehow revert to a 1 star enemy just before you kill it. Possibly lag on xbox, that's my guess but it's a problem nonetheless. It's not always however it happens enough to be a noticeable issue.

Personally I felt mutated events sucked last round and the constant crashing on alien invaders, I would literally waste my time/ammo the whole event for it to crash on the last boss. I built 3 blueprints just for this event. Tall staircase with floor and walls, then every collection that I have including Santatron, then a small crafting and stash corner. (small concrete slab in front of top of stairs with a turret on each side helps a little) Hop into a private and claim 10-15 workshops building this at each. You shouldn't crash with less than 15 and can bounce them every 30 minutes or so and collect A LOT of gifts. It is working right now! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

They weren't increasing the spawn rate of Holiday Scorched to up the chances of Holiday gifts- they increased the spawn rate to get more Legendary weapons and armor... NOT GIFTS. And yes, the Santa Collectron does give gifts, Large, Standard and Small.

I’ll stick to Santatron in private world while running showcase for xp and weapons. I can get 68k xp on my own doing showcase event but do prefer to run a team over solo 🎉

Personally I like the extra spawns. I got more legendaries during Line in the sand yesterday than I ever have in Eviction Notice.

We really needed those legendary items way more than the gifts for plans most of us have. In any case Fallout 1st players will bank on those gifts as usual.

I noticed no increased spawn rate at slightest, in fact, today I had harder time getting holiday scorched for daily than yesterday but one I got to give to Bethesda, they mess up almost everything they touch, but they at least try to fix things and at times we get still compensation, usually by extending events, which sadly cant be sayed about every company, they could say just "sorry" and make crappy joke about Grinch stealing gifts this time

The increased spawn rate actually translated into every second scorched you encountered it was wearing an outfit and was accompanied with the 'jingle' sound. But unfortunately whilst these scorched appeared and sounded like festive scorched they were just dressed up for the occasion.

Someone probably went around & sniped all the holiday & legendary scorched for gifts & legendary drops & left you with normals to clear... it's jerk behavior...

We need the Gat Plasma plans to drop more frequently. The 0.5% drop rate is ridiculous.
