The person laughing was laughing at your goofy & overdramatic depiction of stating the obvious of what an AR15 can do.
It's like me getting up on stage and screaming and yelling about how wet water is.

What I find so ironic is that this is the same man who, in 1998, was speeding down the highway while drunk and crashed into a truck and then allegedly tried to leave the scene.
Yet, I've never heard BETO Talk about banning cars considering the number of people killed by drunk drivers yearly.
BETO is a politician, nothing more, nothing less.
He'll say whatever he needs to say to get what he wants.

I know, even most bolt-action hunting rifles are from military origin, most bolt-action hunting rifles are based off the design of the Gewehr 98 more commonly known as the Mauser 98, which has been used by many militaries around the world for over 100 years and is still being used by militaries today. Plus, the whole point of the 2A is for civilians to own weapons in case the government becomes tyrannical.

The mk-12 is effectively an ar-15 with a longer barrel than is normally used for combat. M4’s are typically carbines with anywhere from 10.3 or 14.5 inches of barrel. The mk-12 has a 16 or 18 inch barrel. It’s also semi automatic because they found using a full auto lower caused inaccuracy from the trigger group. Semi works better for making precise accurate shots at longer distances. The rifle is used for 300+ yard engagements in primarily flat desert environments. There’s also the sr-25 which fills basically the same role but it fires 7.62x51. Also semi only, because it’s for long engagements and full auto is useless.

It is very concerning when the federal government starts to target law abiding conservative veterans. As a retired military aviator and current white-collar tax paying American citizen, I feel discriminated against. Our country has changed very quickly and unfortunately going in the wrong direction. When people feel threatened for their beliefs, that is the ultimate discrimination the liberals claim to be against. I find it very ironic that the groups that support defund the police are strong supporters of the FBI following the Trump house search warrant. Anyone that takes offense to the Betsy Ross flag, is not a believer in the fundamentals of the USA and should have their citizenship revoked. Multiple presidents from both parties have been sworn in with that flag on display. Lastly, I would love to see the justification for 87,000 new IRS agents, the massive amounts of ammo they have on hand, and the recent job announcement stating they must be willing to use deadly force if necessary. You are correct because the facts aren’t on his side. Less than 10% of gun crime involves an AR style gun. If an AR ban were to happen, they would, at best, stop 10% of the gun crime out there. Likely it would maybe stop 2-3% because criminals don’t care about gun laws anymore than they care about murder laws.

Republican Judges were attacked, targeted for attack and vilified, but few charges have been laid out as a whole, while Democrats actively call to arms their constituents to threaten and make unwelcome anyone who is or leans Republican like they’ve committed active treason when there’s little to no evidence of these things. We’re whitnessing a nation in turmoil and violence unchecked, and one side is reporting it as such, another side says it’s a conspiracy against America, and a thousand more sides are reporting their own spin on it. The older generation has neither the patience nor the knowledge of how to wade through all of this, nor the will to learn how to because of how far strung it is to how they used to get their information back when news sources mainly reported in similar fashion.

When he was running for Senate, I had never heard of him, and I got one of those infamous texts from his campaign asking if I'd support Beto. Before I answered, I went onto his webpage and looked at what he stood for; gun bans, killing babies in the womb, affirmative action, social justice bullshit, et cetera. I then went onto Ted Cruz's campaign website and donated the maximum amount I could legally contribute (like >$2K) and took a screenshot of the receipt for the donation. I then responded to the Beto O'Rourke text message saying, not only could he not count on my vote, but I am going to do everything I could to keep him from being elected because he stands for everything antithetical to the values I hold dear, and I politely asked him to take me off his call list while attaching the screenshot of my donation. The guy responded thank you, and he'd let Beto know. I replied with, his name isn't, "Humberto", so stop calling him Beto. He isn't Mexican, and I thought his type was opposed to cultural appropriations. The guy never responded. Haha.

FWiW, the AR-15 and .223 were designed in conjunction for the military, based on requested parameters (helmet penetration at 500 yards was one of them). It was originally supposed to replace the M14, but a redesign changed it to the M16 before it became the official replacement.

The Uvalde shooter was effective, because he was determined to what he set out to do. The Parkland shooter was equally as effective, because he was determined to do what he did as well. What these evil individuals did was nothing less than heinous, and horrific! But the same goes for the local LEOs that stood around, and did next to nothing for the better part of an hour! They too, were in control of the weapons that they had in their possession, but did not have the determination to do what was necessary! They might be some of the toughest Sons Of Guns in Texas, but on that day there was some obvious confusion over procedure, and/or an infection of cowardice. Which I really hope was not the case.
