I remember reading and listening to this vachana many many times during my childhood and I have always heard it it as ‘mrugangalige’ and Vocalist Is right. It may be because the vachana was written in old Kannada. The second thing to be noted is, the word ‘ mrugangalige’ sounds better while singing than ‘mrugagalige’ .

This is a wonderful rendition of Akkamahadevi’s vachana . Vidwan Sri Sanjay Subrahmanyan sings the vachana in a tempo and voice that’s soothing , comforting and relaxing. He has conveyed the intention of the kriti correctly ( which is to face the difficulties of the worldly life with courage, contentment and / or getting emotionally disturbed or discouraged) though the language is Kannada. The Narayani raga sounds melodious. I last charana of the vachana that starts with ‘lokadolage ....’ and until the end is particularly beautiful and outstanding. One little error I found is this - He sings ‘norethore’ ( foamy flow) , but it must be ‘nerethore ( flood flow). The full meaning of the charana or stanza that starts with ‘ samudrada badiyalondu maneya maadi nerthoregalige angidode enthayya ayya ‘ ( Having built a house/home near the sea, why you are scared of flooding or flood flow?. Human Mind : he actually sings ‘nore there’ (ನೊರೆ ತೆರೆ), and that is indeed correct. ನೊರೆ=foam/froth ತೆರೆ=wave. When you think of the ocean, you think of waves, not a stream (thore).

@@humanmind7631 I am not sure whether Sanjay has erred in rendering the lyrics, but one thing you have to bear in my mind, he is a tamilian,who doesnt't know kannada. And, may be, he has not made any effort in understanding the correct lyrics. But please forgive him. I know it hurts you, but you should understand he is not a kannadiga. Many tamilian singers (with due apologies) from MS to UnniKrishnan pronounce horribly some words, as they dont know the meaning of the words. So, I think we should overlook that and tell them in private to make amends. I once emailed to unni (my fav singer, despite his horrible pronunciation blunders)saying he pronounces it all wrong. I told him to learn the lyrics properly and sing. Though he continues to make errors, at least, he acknowledged the email. so, let's forgive these great singers, from alien languages.
