@@LynBartlett I am in no way at all trying to be rude, and say this with 100% honest intent. But maybe it would be best to not breed your fish if you have no plan set in place. If you dont have room, time, or resources to care for a lot of babies produced. Or have no one to give/sell them to. It's not a responsible thing to do. I promise I am coming from a place of truly caring and in no way trying to put you down or offend you. It's a lot on both the male and female. Taking much of there energy and the process could lead to sickness or worse, death. And even possible death of many babies. There is a lot at stake and if you are not prepared for, or know what you're doing. It will lead to disaster.

However, just reading your comment. I see you too are trying to breed your fish without a set plan. From what I can see from your picture, it looks as if you are an adult and I honestly dont understand how you would want to breed your fish, but not end up with a lot of fry. Fish dont just have a few babies. So, if you dont want that many, or dont have the ability to care for the many babies. Why breed them? Putting your female at risk, and draining them of the mass amounts of energy and time it takes for them to breed, brood and for the male to care for their babies. That just doesn't seem to ba worth it and just plain irresponsible. Again, even now I am in no way trying to be mean.

Fascinating. Dexter speaks English very well & delivers clear & simple instructions to guide someone through the complete process of breeding. He shares his extensive knowledge, offers tips on successful results as well as how to avoid failed results. I enjoyed his presentation style. He's professional, relaxed & has a cute sense of humor. His videos are engaging & definately not boring. I very much appreciated his eunderstanding & sensitivity to meeting the needs of his Betta's opposed to just I get the sense that he has genuine respect for his 'babies' & aims to create an environment in which they can thrive & be happy opposed to just keeping them alive. If you are interested in learning all you can about Bettas, he's your guy!! He's a good teacher & most importantly his approach is not like those cold impersonal lab instructions that handle their fish without compassion & only a meaningless object used to make money. Perhaps I'm one of those extremists who believe that all living things are worthy of our respect & deserve to be treated humanely & with compassion. It is unfortunate that so many Humans live with the attitude that we are superior to all the other living things we share this planet with & have the right to judge their value or importance. Man is the single most destructive element besides weather/natural disasters on the only home we have, a big beautiful blue planet known as Earth. Throughout the centuries, man consistently commits genocides on their own species, drive other species to Extinction all because of delusional &/or insane leaders or those with power, influence & ability to provoke fear based illusion of some sort of threat. All that destruction coming from a sick, egocentrial, narcissistic mind that lacks compassion, etc... power & money. sorry, I got off the subject a little. so there you have it....more information than you cared to hear about. good luck to you & your Betta adventure.thanks
