And this was the start of a beautiful friendship. Barbara Walters really enjoyed and admired Bette Midler consistently over the years.

How? BW and BM were hitting it off so much so that Bette did a lot more interviews with her.

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful look at the Divine Miss M. Bette so deserved her year off in 1974. Then look--she came back with Clams on the Half Shell...1 week at the Erlanger in Philadelphia followed by 10 amazing weeks at the Minskoff on Broadway. A legend?? You Bette!!!

I don't understand some of the anti-Bette type comments on here. Bette is indeed DIVINE. There is no one else today like her. Unlike so many of todays female singers, Bette hasn't had to show more of body in order to get people to listen to her music. She's done it all, movies, television, books, Broadway and has won various music awards including the Grammy. Few have accomplished as much as she has. She is indeed a legend in her own time. I appreciate her choice of songs from the ballads such as The Rose to more of the whimsical songs that she'll do in her shows or sometimes include on an album. And yes, she should have won an Oscar for her role in The Rose.

I'm just so glad Barbara didn't ask about her sister! One crass interviewer ask her about her sister's death she was destroyed right in front of the camera worst thing I ever saw. 💔

Jinxed was not such a bad movie , but cannot be compared as a sequel to The Rose, which critics did and soon wonder why the public ridicules them. They review movies to please other critics, are not objective and then engage in a gangbang of cliches. And, is why today they are unemployed!
