One of Bette’s very best renditions of a classic song. Enormously moving. It may seem silly to some but I waved to my Mom like that after she died. It’s like saying, please don’t go, but we’ll see each other again. Like trying to give them one last hug.

My best friend from elementary school found me after 40 years of separation. It's so wonderful having her back in my life. We're in our 60's now, but we picked up right where we left off. I sent her this movie and every time we haven't spoken for a while, she feels terrible and I use this movie's byline: "Some friendships last forever" We're just busy, not neglectful....

As a child I loved how it came full circle. As kids Hillary watched CeCe sing this and it ended with Victoria watching CeCe sing it. So devastating but beautiful ❤️ I loved that CeCe hated kids but would have given her life for Hillary and made the ultimate sacrifice by taking Victoria. The name of the movie is "Beaches" made in about 1988. It is such a wonderful movie. Seen it about 20 times through the years. It shows off all sides of Bette. But make sure to get out the Kleenex. If you have ever lost someone close to you that you have loved with all your heart. This movie is soooo cathartic. If you feel touched by it and are crying, just remember there is someone crying with you too...

You've got to give a little, take a little, and let your poor heart break a little. That's the story of, that's the glory of love. You've got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little. That's the story of, that's the glory of love. As long as there's the two of us, we've got the world and all it's charms. And when the world is through with us, we've got each other's arms. You've got to win a little, lose a little, yes, and always have the blues a little. That's the story of, that's the glory of love. That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

This movie will forever be dear to my heart when I was little my sister and I would stay up at night and watch this. We always sang this song to each other... but she moved away and started her life. I was at the mall with my mom and I was talking about a song to do for a school project and the new version came out of Beaches and I was humming the lines " You've gotta love a little laugh a little" and my mom stoped me and said I should do this song for my project and I've never been more happier then ever!
@MichaelBrookham10 жыл бұрын
I find this ironic: When C.C., as a kid, sings this song at the beginning, she sings it more upbeat and Hillary says she almost cried at it. When C.C., as an adult, sings it slowly, Victoria stands in the sidelines and smiles.

this is one of the most beautiful-est heart breaking heart felt songs of my favorates of all times, every time i hear bette midler sing it, it makes me cry. i love the way bette midler sang it at the end, its touching heart felt, this song takes me back too sadness, darkness, in my own life, i cry every time i hear it, i liked the movie beaches except i was sad when hillary passed away, i gess i'm more of a cc cause i to, want to be in show biz, an i would never ever sleep with any of my friends boy friend, Espacialy one they really like, some things are just taboo that, SISTERS, COUSINS, and FRIENDS, just don't do, you just don't do and thats why i say you got to be very careful when you call some one your friend. cause ONE DAY, you can learn the hard way in life, the hard way, an get the shock of your life. but beaches is a great movie to see.
