Chloe Sutton is a great swimming teacher. I learned so many techniques from her. Her way of teaching is very simple and a person at the novice level can easily understad what she is trying to convey. Furthermore practical demonstration make things far more easy.

Chloe, you do the absolute best progressions! I have so many times wished that I could point people to the Swim Like A Champion video that you and Peter did, specifically to the body position progression that you did, starting with the float. Is there any way you could do a similar series on youtube without violating any copy writes or similar? It is just that good.

Hi Chloe, thank you for taking the time to post these great tips! im a newbie at swimming. I know not to drown, and I go to the 8ft with the kickboard and sometimes flippers. However I find that after I use the flippers my ankles do not want to do the work. What is the middle ground in using accessories without having my body get use to them? Ive come along way with all the accessories im using :D

Chloe, how do I speed up my arms in butterfly. I feel I have a 'dead spot' when they enter the water. I then seem to glide a little before initiating the second kick and the catch. Am I right to think they should keep a continuous circular motion. Help appreciated.

Chest press timing!!! Press your chest down as you swing your arms forward
@lancerobinson83646 жыл бұрын
I also found that the butter flutter (butterfly stroke with flutter kick) helps in taking that extra glide time out. 25 butter flutter 25 fly. it is lots of fun
@petea1uk6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip Lance. Thinking about flutter with fly arms makes sense. I’ll definitely be adding that to my drills. Cheers.

Dear Chloe, I am pretty short at only 5'7 but I have a wingspan of 5'10. I recently started doing butterfly in the last 6 months and have found that after 25 yards I am tired and then after 50 yards I am completely exhausted only clocking a 40 second 50 yard time. What is the key to doing longer butterfly distance? Also, are there any drills to help make you more conscious of your timing in the water? Ideally I would like to break the 30 second 50 yard plane by April 1, 2019 in time for the State US Masters swim.

I’ve been a competitive swimmer for 6 years, and I am here to tell you that it takes practice, Practice, PRACTICE to get the fly rhythm down. It took me 3 years to get my butterfly technique down, and it’s still not perfect. Just stick to it and keep up the endurance training

Is swimming a form of Hypoxia training? They don't call it hypoxia unless the oxygen content drops below a certain blood percentage, but, I think swimmers have lower blood oxygen levels while training and swimming than any other sports or exercise regime other than diving. I started swimming again, for leisure, three weeks ago and felt like I were drowning in the pool after 5 lengths, so had to keep changing from front crawl to back stroke then the breast stroke. But I did do 120 lengths. Last week, however, felt a little better but was getting a bit light headed after 10 lengths, so I have to stop every so often to not injure myself. Good news is I seem to get stronger with the breathing every time I get in the pool. I can now do three strokes before taking a breath consistently. But before I was feeling light headed on breathing on every stroke. It happen to me originally when I started swimming for a hobby, if you try to compete with other swimmers in the pool, even the old people who do it for leisure, a person can pass out from the lack of oxygen or too much carbon dioxide. I would be interested for scientist to test blood oxygen levels in swimmers, from Olympic to recreation swimmers down to beginners and those who've taken a lot of time off.
