I’m using the Scythe Mugen 5 with one fan (Scythe Wind Snail). The heat pipes are offset to clear the RAM, and it came with a screwdriver. This keeps my 5950x cool, so this one should as well, as long as you install the fans to draw heat away from the CPU instead of blowing hot air on the hottest component in the case.
@animalyze7120 Жыл бұрын
And what about your VRMS. Chokes and other motherboard temps? Yep I thought so.
@Rood67 Жыл бұрын
@@animalyze7120 don’t know and don’t care what you thought or think. My system run smooth and cool per all sensors.
@steveNCB77543 жыл бұрын
Agree with Rabi's suggestion. Seems a bit counter-intuitive that you would take case air, pass it through the radiators (presumably heating that air) and then blow that heated air all over the motherboard and its components.

I have the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 for my AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and it performs very well. Only drawback since it's massive it does prevent me from reaching into my RAM sticks if I have to troubleshoot it. It's not big of a deal but something to think about if you want to look at that cooler over what I have.
@animalyze7120 Жыл бұрын
Set it forget it, you should never have to troubleshoot anything once the System is built or it's not done correctly,or extremely old build when parts begin failing if they even do.

wow. I'm a die hard noctua fan, but gotta say i'm impressed by be quiet here in so many ways, the 9 and 7 blade fan in particular! This is the kind of attention to detail you want to see from someone looking for maximum cooling without making more noise. having recently experimented with fanplacment on my D15 and realizing the extra fan gives minimal extra cooling but potentially much more noise. turns out you need to tune the fans differently to eachother when they are mounted to the same cooler or rad if not they work against eachother, and this can be difficult or impossible depending on your mobo.
@HeadPack2 жыл бұрын
How did you tune the fans on the D15? What results did you get?
@torjusaanderaa37492 жыл бұрын
@@HeadPack well, for now i ended up going back to just 1 fan on the cooler. then it blows directly in to the back chasis fan. so maybe it should be tuned relative to that. but this is also relative to the rest of the system of course so then it get's even more complicated. I'm not even sure this would be possible to do manually without some extra sensors and smoke for visualizing flow and a lot of time on your hands. but since fans are reporting their rpm the mobo could technically compare this to the target speed to see if it's working against the flow. in real time. But i'm not sure if the mobo software is smart enough to do this even on high end boards. at least it gives you very little information about what it does if you push a button like "auto tune". That being said. having used only 1 fan on the cooler for a while this too can get a little bit noise on full rpm, and it reaches that rpm under less load. in other words, it seams to me: 2x fans on 50% = less noise than 1x 100% for almost the same cooling. 2x fans on 100% is much more noise than 1x100% but not much more cooling.

@@torjusaanderaa3749 Got it. Interesting finds. I personally removed the rear case fan after finding out it was restricting the Noctua at higher loads.

I have this exact same cooler in my ryzen 7 5800x and it idles around 40c but I originally got it for OCing a fx 8350 to 4.8Gz and the top flow on the VRMs is very handy indeed. Mine came with 2x9 blade fans. I have also heard of people mounting the fans upside down and venting out the side panel.

I saw this on Amazon but then I thought to myself, I don't like the idea of the potential dust pushed toward and around the cpu, considering the fan orientation is set up that way. Thinking about it now, to me, it may be nice for an RGB fan but even that would likely look sloppy to hide the cables. A side to side, front of case to rear case, cpu block still seems optimal to me despite the visual mass of it.
@ET_Explorer2 жыл бұрын
Then you need to clean the dust off the fans to prevent that. In fact, you can use any fan, it doesn't have to be a be quiet fan.
@animalyze7120 Жыл бұрын
Thats why mosr ppl suffer overheated VRM issues becaue they THINK they know stuff. Ever wonder why Intel and AMD stock coolers all fire down towards the Motherboard? This is done for a reason and idiots with AIO's and huge side flow coolers don't understand, which keeps us repair folks in business of course, cause we know enthusiasts will never listen.
