The Ultimate line has great ideas but paced like a vertigo book where it’ll take 20 issues to go anywhere. Absolute books are low brow but much better paced.

Funny how a 3rd volume of Ultimate Spider-Man #1 flew so hard under the radar that it's now a $75 book. Some of us bought it, because we wanted simple sh*t like to see a hero rewarded with some strain of love & happiness at end of day. These concepts are simple, which proves that modern editors & writers hate us. Smashing your heroes& your heart at its very core. Sadly, they have always made it look like the lamest version of propaganda rebellion in all of history. Ultimate vs Absolute Universe? I'll keep my money for when I see my heroes.

If I had bought the rights to the Sectaurs, I would continue the story where the war between Prince Dargon and General Spidrax eventually comes to an end, with the Planet Symbion finally being free from the despotic and tyrannical rule of Spidrax and his Imperial Empire. Dargon's Royal Kingdom declares that his absolute monarchy is now free from the destruction of war, and he is officially crowned Royal King. This would make Spidrax and his evil army imprisoned for their war crimes of global genocide, and his attempt at global domination for life in a specially-designed prison surrounded by the Sea of Acid Rain and run by King Dargon's Royal Guard. But then, after several years of peace and prosperity because of Dargon's Royal Army protecting the Planet Symbion and saving the Sectaur race, a new alien threat suddenly appears, attacking and invading. The hostile alien race is a totalitarian rule by a sole political party that is ruthless, with no respect for any other alien species. They are a race of rodent-like humanoids called the Rodenthals, Soldiers Of Mergeus. They are an armada of advanced, interstellar space ships with Faster-Than-Light travel, and space warp teleportation, and who possess exotic weaponry, such as sense-stealing ray guns that can temporarily cause their arch-nemies to lose of their five physical senses of either hearing, sight, smell, taste or touch in order to incapacitate them, and even an energy ray cannon that can wipe out half of all insect-like life on Symbion once it is built on Symbion's moon. The leader of this Imperial Galactic Empire, Admiral Rattakk, wants to try to either conquer Symbion and enslave the Sectaurs, or else, if he can't, exterminate the Warriors Of Symbion, and destroy their planet. In order to try to help King Dargon, some good Rodenthals have become the allies of his Supreme Worldwide Monarchy, and his enormous Royal Family. These Soldiers Of Mergeus are the arch-foes of Admiral Rattakk. They are a large confederacy of exploitative space pirate organizations founded, and led by Emperor Micengarde, who defies, opposes, and resists Admiral Rattakk. He helps Dargon become a freedom fighter, rebel and revolutionary, giving him new weapons, such as gauntlets that can project intense, freezing cold and headbands that can create electrical energy fields. But Admiral Rattakk has freed General Spidrax and his army, recruiting them to his cause by promising him the chance to eliminate King Dargon and rule Symbion as a part of his hierarchy of many battle thralls. General Spidrax has agreed, but is secretly biding his time until he can overthrow Admiral Rattakk and take over for himself. At the same time, Rattakk doesn't trust Spidrax to be completely loyal to him, and so he has decided to get rid of Spidrax just as soon as he has overstayed his welcome and outlived his usefulness. Rattakk is also obsessed with defeating his arch-nemesis Emperor Micengarde, just as Micengarde is equally determined to stop Rattakk at all costs. This new continuation story and/or sequel would introduce into a new animated series, toyline and comic book, the spin-off called Rodenthals, Soldiers Of Mergeus. Rodent-like humanoid aliens from another planet with giant mouse-like and giant rat-like animals that they ride into battle. Combine that with the Sectaurs and the giant insect-like and giant arachnid-like animals they they use as mounts in combat, it would make for a very cool resurrection of a 1980s throwback franchise.

Ultimate was DOA... Just Hickman style sterile boringness (Spiderman and Black Panther) and Peach Momoko given creative control because they want to ... Ultimates is probably the highlight, it's better than Hickman or Sam Humphries Ultimates but it's bad and ill take Millar Ultimate, Jeph Loeb Ultimates and even Al Ewing Ultimates all day every day over any of this Ultimate relaunch.
