Tony says in his book "Iron Man" that this is his favourite guitar solo. I agree with the Maimed God on this.

I love it, when Iommi loses himself in "guitar world". 😂 And Dio is Dio !

Yes this song has captivated me lately as well. It is so amazingly deep and unique. What Iommi does on that guitar must be one of the best performances ever recorded. Like you said, it speaks to the heart when you listen. The 2021 remaster is great btw.

Excellent choice! I don't see many reactions to this song. You really "get" the music. Quite enjoying your channel, miss!

Yes, I agree on all counts! A great song, and Randi "gets" music, which is rare and very cool!

That’s the sound of masters playing and performing like few can! Over 50 collective years of the band members expertise.

they actually formed as a blues band, and certain tunes really let that style show through. Great reaction, and thanks for bringing back memories of days long gone!

Good comment, J! Also, Bill Ward had a jazz background, and he and Iommi eeee capable of excellent jazz. For a good example, check out “Air Dance”. 🤔😉

@@mikeg.4211 cool, in case you want to do a little digging as well, i'm pretty sure they went by "Earth" in their blues phase.

@@Lightning61 , that’s correct, and in fact even before that they were the “Polka Tulk Blues Band”, haha! That name actually came from a brand of talcum powder, haha!

Randi, this is another example of what makes you such a unique and great reactor, and why I can't get enough of your reactions. You have real soul, and you really "get" music! This is the legendary Ronnie James Dio singing, the master Tony iommi (who invented metal in 1970 and who wrote the music for this and who everyone playing heavy music since 1970 has been basing their music on) playing lead guitar, and the super talented Geezer (Terry) Butler on bass. You nailed it about the guitar strings, which illustrates my point about you getting music! iommi had several fingertips on his playing (right) hand, (since he plays lefty) severed in a work accident on his last day before starting the band full time, and he fashioned fingertips out of melted down plastic covered with leather, which meant he could no longer feel the strings, and because of the intense pain in his fingers, he had to tune down the guitar strings to loosen them, and had to have specially made superlight strings made. Before he could get them made (since there was no such thing at the time), for awhile he even had to resort to using banjo strings. I have been privileged enough to see iommi and Butler play together many times, and their chemistry together was out of this world.

I`ve seen Sabbath twice and met Iommi at a guitar show. Got his autograph, really nice fella

No surprise, I always thought this was one of their best songs, no matter what era of Sabbath, and right up there with the title track of that album, Heaven and Hell. Another good post Ozzy Sabbath tune is The Headless Cross, with the underrated Tony Martin on vocals. Also check out Valhalla, it's a banger! Enjoy. 🎸

Another great Dio song that will take you away somewhere calm and peaceful, check out his song called "Catch the Rainbow" when he sang with the band Rainbow. It is such a mellow song that you can drift away. The live version is tremendous, I would recommend listening to both the studio and live.
