(Young blond Singer @6:42) You picked me up, when I was broken. You pieced together words that were not spoken. You found a way to see me as I was, Even when the world doesn't show you the same love. You're expected to do everything on your own, Provide and then hide all the feelings that you hold. But your heart is deserving enough, show it I see you for who you are, I hope that you know it. Please dont hide yourself, Ill try my best to understand.......

I agree.. but in my personal experience and the experience I see reflected back by many...many... many other men is that when topics surrounding supporting men cone up. There's more than a 50% chance that she'll twist the context into "Women too".. While I agree that women experience unique challenges in life. Talking about men, talking about supporting men doesn't mean to stop caring about women but I ask any woman to give me 5 examples of songs where the message is about men and men's problems... Empathy is free, yet society's a whole refuses to even afford a fraction of that given to women.

This song is crazy! It says everything I never knew I needed to hear! There's a strong desire to provide and protect my family, which I learned from my father and I would never complain about having to do it. "Cause all I want to do is provide. I was made for this...." I LOVE taking care of my family and wouldn't ever ask for a role reversal. But sometimes "I just want to cry, be given a hug, and be told everything will be okay". Thank you so much for your reaction

Absolutely! It's not rocket science on how to make men happy. At the end of the day, all they want is to feel supported by their wife, fiance, girlfriend, etc... respect that a man has feelings that are completely valid. Like Tammy Wynette sang in the 80s... Stand By Your Man, give him 2 arms to hold to and something to cling to when life gets cold and lonely. Stand by your man, and show the world you love him, keep giving all the love you can and stand by your man.

5:26 exactly. many (most?) of us are conditioned very deeply to never talk about these things or we'll look weak and vulnerable. No matter how much we want to we're afraid of having it weaponized against us. It doesn't really matter how misplaced that belief is. It's a very deep trust issue.

You showed a small but significant part of your heart during this video. It left me close to tears. Seeing just how beautiful people can be what some of their inner most soul is allowed to come forward, help a lot with finding how much more we have in common as a created race. Made to be social beings, made to love and be loved, and girted with empathy that helps us understand each other better, especially when we stop for just a moment and out ourselves in another's shoes. A tenderness cam from you that has remained close to the surface for any with eyes to see to discover, but not this time, you put it on show, and it's incredibly beautiful. THAT'S why I can say in all innocence how much I love you. I tiny bit of what you said pushed really deep into my heart and showed a lot about me that I've had tucked away for so long. Not word for word, but taking strength from your husband. What did that say? It's this, that we all, everyone of us have that within us to give and receive strength, enough to take the edge off of any and every internal, whether from mourning a lost soul, tor simply had a bad day. Whether raised by a marine or a prostitute, it's there to be shared, truck drive or front man in a rock band, makes no difference. When I'm told we're made in God's image, this is what I visualise, living the harder side of love, where we all get hurt, and draw healing from each other, making us ready to fight again tomorrow. Now the song, ice.... Just kidding. It was nice, but with a divine ability to reach to depths of the soul that haven't been accessed for a long time. Musically, it mad me think back to days when the lighthouse family were doing well. Smooth, easy going soft, laid back, and all round pleasant, even for a metal head... (We all have our vices, mine are metal, and a nice cup of tea). It's one of those very rare song that could go on for another half our, and it would still be easy to listen to. Very cool having so many people playing their part in the video, that gave it another dimension all together, pointing out that we do indeed have the same make up, are all cut from the same cloth, and all lovingly and fearfully knit together in our mother's womb. The over all theme of exposing the gentle side of human nature was the big point for me, show that young men shouldn't have to conform to any stereo type to be accepted. Just wonderful. More like this please. @ere, once I type this out, I went over it, bit at a time with a magnifying glass, and had to correct about 50 typos... LOL Find it hard reading letters on a keyboard Hehehe. That twice you made my day Randi, I looked in at my inbox to discover an email from you. Thank you. That meant a huge amount. As Steve said, your "rambling" is always welcome, you have so much more than you belive, as when you ramble, what you give is received and loved. Your insights are from the heart more than the mind, and therefore more meaningful. There, now 2 people have complimented you at once.. Be blessed Randi. TTFN

Guys and gals. This song is not aimed at women. It is aimed at the world and how the world sees a man.
@kyleb51694 ай бұрын
Women are a part of this though. I've read through the comments on so many reaction videos for this song and a common theme is the woman using his feelings against him, invalidating his feelings or just straight up disregarding how they feel. While its not aimed directly at women, you can't deny that women in some cases are part of the problem with how they react to men. If a man opens up and gets berated for it later on, why should he open up again just to go through the same BS?
@tat3r802Ай бұрын
I learned first-hand that it doesn't matter.... Opening up leads to people losing respect for your ability to face the world and provide the emotional stability they need. I fell for it once and it led to divorce. When things get tough, find a quiet place and tell God.

If I could offer a production tip, turn your compressor/limiter/gate down a little. You have a little ambient noise in the background, so it's tempting to crank the gate up so it cuts that out. The result is we can hear the noise while you speak, then the gate crashes down to silence between your phrases. It's a stark contrast. I appreciate you tackling a deep subject. There's a lot wrong in the world, and home should be a safe, peaceful place for both partners. We can all do better and be better.

Main reason I don't truly open up is either I'm just a sexual object or they don't want to think of or can't understand. Last thing I worry about is seeming weak...all of them already know damn well enough lol, can add putting my burdens on them, which is why therapy isn't an option...my last therapist I became a therapist for her lol which just more burdens on me, or scaring them off, seeming too "clingy"... but I could make a very long list of things before anyone thinking I'm weak, I know a lot of men worry about tho especially with females but nah just beaten down by life and basically and thinking of the future of everyone else and society, also I'm a Christian and highly doubt I find heaven...idk like said a very long list of why hold back, I still do open up a lot but not even close to what could lol which I'll tear up and cry or whatever, just most can't handle it...idk.

@kyleb51694 ай бұрын
A lot of women don't hear about a man's feelings because 1. society says its not manly to be vulnerable and 2. women use a man's feelings against him in a future argument. Men only open up if they are in a space where they know there will be not retribution for their feelings. Women if you want your man to open up like this and be vulnerable to him, LISTEN TO UNDERSTAND don't listen to react. Don't use what he says against him in a future argument. Any women who don't agree with the messages of this song, needs to work on herself and stay single until she can learn these things. This song is literally a road map for women to understand how a man feels and the 2 women give you a shining example of how you should treat your man. The first lady shows you how to appreciate your man "You pick me up when I was broken, you piece together words that were not spoken" then she goes on to be supportive and says "but your heart is deserving love show it, I see you for who you are, I hope that you know it" It's literally a road map on what you should do to help your husband, fiance, boyfriend, etc... You get several men explaining different situations men suffer through and then 2 women that show you exactly how to be a woman for your man.
