This hit home, in a whole different way for me. The Generational part especially. My Father was not their in my life and my mother took on the burden alone. But I have devoted my life to be anything but my father growing up. One of the most heartbreaking facts I always remember is that in most cases the first time a man receives flowers is at their funeral. We live a life of underappreciation, we don't demand anything but the wellbeing of our Loved ones. You see so much about the Equal rights for Women. They have more, so much more. Men don't have an outlet. We sit down in a quiet corner and have a drink, we have to hide our feelings through the fear of Judgment of showing weakness. IT NEVER WEAKNESS, We Care and that's the reality. Thank you Dax and Thank you for this reaction. I appreciate you.

Love Love Love This! Bring that awareness. I am deep living that song right now. I have been kicked out of the house I almost solely paid for by my wife of almost 14 years and haven’t seen my 10 and 12 year old boys in 20 days today. Interesting enough, I met Darius Rucker just before the birth of my son, Rucker, at a concert in my hometown. It’s amazing how the world works and all of this solitude has helped shine a beacon of light on my purpose, to help young men through what I am going through and have been through once before when I was only 18. Keep looking up, be positive, be kind. Every day I keep waking up means I have a fighting chance…

I love this song. The first time I heard it I cried. I'm a single mom with a young adult disabled son and for the part of BOTH of us; I can so relate to this song. EXCEPT society is "OK" with me crying. (If they care at all?) My son though? The kid that wishes he could drive; that wishes he could hold down a job! But for the damn intractable epilepsy that turns a 21 year old pretty much into a nursing home resident. And aint a DAMN THING we can do about it! We've been to some of the best hospitals in the world and the medical technology to help him, just isn't there. "... there's no respect for you if you aint paid. You're disregarded as a human and you can't complain..." "Don't give up; keep on fightin' as a man our son is our horizon. And our father's actions play a role and we end up like 'em. So they can't let us see them hurt; 'cause we'll embody what they do and start a generational curse." My former husband and son's dad committed suicide 6 years ago; seven or so years after he abandon his family for a series of affairs. And the kid is lost in the "legacy" of dad's bad coping skills. Talk about "generational curse"! What does it mean to be a man and what is "toxic masculinity" anyways? (A dad that takes his frustration out on his son? That has nothing to do with being a guy; but the kid don't understand that. All he knows is THAT is NOT what he wants to be!) So another generation of lost boys is created; and what "social contagion" comes along; and they see themselves as "feminine"? "What is a man?" is just as important of a question as "What is a woman?"! Men who "feel like" women; aren't women and women who "feel like" men; aren't men! Listen to the stories of the detransitioners that are now popping up all over KZbin and you'll see how much this song applies to that question! "...They go to war and get thrown on the shelf; then go back to war with their mental health." Personally, I can relate to this verse literally. I'm a service connected disabled veteran. I did clean up after Desert Storm. Yet the war on the home front that my son is fighting isn't any less real or devastating than what happened to Iraq, Afghanistan, or now the Ukraine! "... Then grab that bottle and ask for help. Try to pull themselves out of hell. Then fall back down and realize that they gonna have to do it themselves." It's beyond sick; it's demonic. Our lost generation of boys (and girls) aint "trans". Just a bunch of warped b*** doctors and big pharma m** f**** making a buck off of puberty blockers, fake hormones and destroying kid's bodies for the rest of their lives. Jordan Peterson is right; these people are butchers. And where do we take these kids to get them the help they need? "It's the circle of life as a (hu)man you provide." "They don't know what your worth till the day that you die. That's when they start cryin' and move on to a man to confide in!" That's why we can't hide ourselves. We don't expect you to understand. We just hope we can explain; what it's like to be a man. It's a lonely road. And you don't care 'bout what we know. It's not 'bout how we feel, but what we provide inside that home. That home. It's not 'bout how we feel, but what we provide inside that home! Thanks Cedrc and Brian for reviewing this song. "To be a man" is a very important question in society right now!

Perspective - Dax goes online to talk to his fans. Those who follow him knows that most of his works are influence his life and his fans. Like the joker, I can’t breath and others reveal depression and going thru cyber bullying. In this one he saids listen to not comment, but understand. As a woman I do believe that men/man was born only innately to be the protector, provider and the one with pride. This sets men to push past the impossible and stand up when inside you feel afraid. Women are not with the level of pride and is the nurturer and the more vulnerable and reliant. That is Y you said that genders can do each other jobs, but doing it do not make them the best at it. In all creation human nature is no diff than animal nature. The norm is the norm and cannot be calculated by the few. Great vid!

And it is not just the personal level about a home it is also about society as a whole. Society doesn't care what we know (unless it has to do what with we do as a job) or how we feel but about what we can do/provide for society as men that is all society cares about. That is all our importance is to society.

Decided to go on my lap as I watch yous on my tv. Dax is an Independent. He refuses to sign so that he can (1) Flow in between genres at his free will. (2) Create those arts that can address even those hard to find , real life scenarios. BTW Dax is from Canada came to US to attend Div-1 college in Kansas. In this vid he went back to the college neighborhood and hit up with regular ppl to just do what is normal for them and they saw what he did afterward. He created something realistic for them and us. ALSO to avoid KZbin to not just allow you or dispute, because you just have to: Better to reflect your screen on a second device and react from that device. Some reactors are doing that. (2) You have to stop it sooner than you are doing and to many reactors do not. Will keep watching to see if you will get monetized. Question? What is the difference between a viewer and a subscriber who views?

I am pro woman as a woman, but I still understand that woman are not built like men in muscle or other. Despite “some woman” - men go to war, men play sports that require hand-to-hand….there are examples. We all can think of some truly natural existence. Men build more so then woman. Etc.etc….It is not a bad thing , a thing because the genders have necessary differences. This is a tearful men anthem.

Been in the Army for 16 years, and a very strong and independent woman. Regardless, I believe there are things men do that women cannot do. Just like a man will NEVER (no medical intervention can change this) birth a child. It’s ok to accept the basic human roles we are here for. I’m not saying women can’t do bada$$ things, or men can’t be the nurturer to a child, because we’re all obviously different…BUT that doesn’t undermine our basic nature as human beings. While I might put a lot of dudes in their place at work, my man is the man at home. Always will be because no matter how strong I am, I still need that strength, love, and protection from him. Like you quoted from Jordan Peterson “masculinity is not ok, it’s necessary!” Todays feminism is gross, and this song is spot on.

I feel that much of what he is saying is our internal experience. Some women seem threatened by this, like they are implicated and being called bad wives etc. I don't think that's it at all. Even if we marry someone who doesn't see us as simply a paycheck, or a stairway to heaven, we have been exposed our entire lives to the cultural norms and expectations of what a true man is. It is starting to change in our youngest generation and what's the response from so many of our oldest generations? They are pansies, weak, lazy, can't pick themselves up by the bootstraps and all that horsesh*t. This song, to me, is about our internal experience as men, not an implication or blame. Honestly, it is almost an acceptance of it, possibly as necessary, but we just want to be understood and appreciated.
@Duke00x Жыл бұрын
It's not just about the personal level. It is what is expected of men by society as a whole and how we are seen by society. If men are not somehow providing for society then we are seen as useless by society (and unlike with women just procreating doesnt count as providing something to society. In fact if that is all we are doing it is seen as a detriment to society). If we are not furthering society, protecting society and/or providing for society we are treated as if we shouldn't exist and should just disappear or kill ourselves.

I would have to disagree about females not wanting to do the same stuff men do. 27.4% of militaries are women and 72.6% of militaries are men. I think the numbers are off because female troops are looked down on as in what man would feel like a man if they know their partner is off fighting a war while they stay home? Even our political leaders push against female troops. It is I don't think they don't want to but rather they are discouraged to do stuff and same as for men. If a man loves fashion he too is looked down, as not being a real "man." But this leads to nature vs nurture discussion. I think it is a societal double standard.
