Betty probably could have been a standup.

@@nathanfitzgerald6651 a favorite Betty white clip of mine is a talk show a decade or so ago, they said they couldn’t get William shatner to “come” with her (to the show) and she quickly replied that she wished she could get him to as well and it took the audience a couple seconds for it to sink in, and the laughter just started to roll louder and louder. Great clip, hilarious bit. She could have been a standup with her quick wits. I miss her.

I got to see Joan live, less than year before she passed. One of the best nights of my life. She roasted me and my husband (we were literally in front of the stage) to death and I loved every second of it. She then ordered us some shots of vodka (we are Russian) and threw her hair extension at me. I of course keep it to this day.

Today I am sad for the family if the 10th grade hockey player who tragically died playing his sport, and I didn't even know he existed until today. @Jeff Morse, I agree. And the way we restrict comedy so no one is ever offended. Dean Martin roasts were technically clean. But they said stuff on network tv that might not be allowed on cable today. Ethnic jokes to each other. Sammy Davis got pounded, Jew jokes, black, Italian, Irish. They used to do Sinatra and Mafia stuff. Then the guy's like George Carlin, so many great ones. Would Archie Bunker have been allowed in today's correct world? Giving a good joke, and taking one are now difficult to do. I miss those days too my friend. 😄🤪✌️☮️👍

She reminds me so much of my grandmother! Just such a funny, awesome, and smart lady! When I heard she died it made me sad because my gmom died 12 years ago but I always thought she was kinda still with me because of Betty White. Such a legend! Will be missed!
