The producer of Broken Home said this a few years ago: "Other than Ashton, the three guys have parents who are still together. Ashton has never met his father. Ashton really connected into the theme. 'We're saying something with this song, it's going to connect with the audience, at least 50% of our audience come from broken homes. We're actually taking a stand.'"

Fun fact: They essentially said they wrote this album as a "progressive rock" album because they were tired of people saying they couldn't play their own instruments and they wanted to be taken seriously in the music industry. So the big guitars, big drums, big bass, it was basically a big "f you" to the people who kept calling them a boyband. They were 19 and just wanted people to know they could rock if they wanted to lol

Ashton does all those high harmonies, like in San Francisco and Outer Space/Carry On - his voice is straight up angelic. Also... this album was produced almost entirely by John Feldman, and they posted this week on their social media that they're working with him again on 5SOS5 and I am SO STOKED because if they come back to these pop-punk roots a bit more again I'm going to lose my mind!!!

Also, superbloom is a very personal album to ashton and he wrote it about a lot of struggles that he has dealt with. It is truly a masterpiece of an album and showcases his talent so wonderfully. Ashton also release a live performance/film on superbloom on his youtube which is very amazing as well!

I remember listening to this album when it first released and hearing the first couple songs I was thinking I didn't DISlike the songs but like, they were the type of songs I probably wouldn't put on unless it just randomly got really stuck in my head, you know? Not bad songs but not my thing yet. Then the further into the album I got the more I absolutely LOVED it. By the end, Outer Space/Carry On (as well as several others) ended up being on repeat from time to time and I just kept putting the whole album on shuffle. I feel like all of 5SOS's albums have a little bit of a different vibe to them and I really love that about their music. Been following them since before their first full album and it's really fun to have seen the evolution of it

3 years really felt like a long time as a big fan back then. Sounds Live Feels Live (the world tour for this album) ended october 2016. First world tour was 2014. That's a long ass time on the road! As you can see, they were touring and recording non-stop for 3 years (plus 3 years before that doing small concerts and recording EPs) and they were burned out. So they took a well-deserved break. They did start writing and recording right away in Sweden in late 2016 and then did the rest back home in the US all of 2017 (so a half/half kind of thing). "Want You Back" was the last track off of Youngblood to be recorded in late 2017. They also recorded a song called Take What You Want with One OK Rock. I miss Michael's vocals, I mean his voice is so unique and he used to able to scream sing (don't know if he still can tho). My top underrated songs in these 2 earliest albums are either a Calum/Luke duet or a Michael/Calum duet so I need my Mike solos back real bad!! Speaking of which, his part in the song Take What You Want is amazing. Ashton has a solo in it as well ( if you watch it, please listen to it with the lyrics so you know who sings what). Speaking of Ash, that's him doing those amazing super high notes on this album, like in Outer Space. PS: B-sides are Rarities are so WORTH it, like please listen to them, a bunch of underrated songs in there and a few favorites of mine as well.

SGFG, HELL YES!!! My favorite album when it came out (now I basically listen to Youngblood and CALM on repeat, as they are closer to the genres I listen to today) but to this day an AMAZING album with a few favorites like Jet Black Heart, Waste the Night, Castaway, Broken Home, San Francisco, Permanent Vacation, Airplanes and Outer Space/Carry On. I identify with this album the most because of the themes and they played a few of these songs on the tour I went to (it was in 2015 and they released a few singles by then) so a bunch of memories associated with it! Like for example, Permanent Vacation because we had crowd participation. Can't wait for the documentary, it was filmed during the tour I just mentionned, it's EPIC!! I'm personally obsessed with the bass but the drums are PERFECTION (thank you to John Feldman for producing this MASTERPIECE). They do switch off and on who sings A LOT more in those earlier albums and I miss it, especially Michael's vocals, I mean JBH gives me CHILLS because of that Cal/Mike duo. "JBH: favorite song on the album" HELL YES!!! We love to see some Calum vocal appreciation as well, YES SIR. I also just love that you can identify what's "classic 5SOS" haha That includes the interludes, those are dope, your reaction is priceless! The amounts of time, the band forgot or mixed up the lyrics of Waste the Night is hilarious, still one of my favorite songs of this album. I am so thankful for this album because it helped me transition from teenager to adult a lot easier, it was a tought time for me back then. PS: You can still see them live, just buy some tickets ;)

im back but just a lil info for you if you are still confused as to why they took a 3 year gap between albums for sgfg and youngblood. 5sos were touring all through 2015 and 2016, then through 2017-18 5sos were going through a transitional period where they knew they wanted to do something different (as you can tell as youngblood has a completely different sound than sgfg) so they took time off to figure that out and to really put their all into something that they were proud of. Also 5sos at that point had been touring since 2014 straight and took some time to just live for a while without the constant touring. Not to mention luke was going through a really tough time during 2017 (he had a very toxic relationship and it had ended, as you can probably tell from the lyrical content and emotion lying in the whole youngblood album) and he took some time to reflect on that and get his head on straight, he even lived with ashton for a while. But anyways thankyou for the video even if ive already watched it multiple times and commented :)

I invite you to discover this wonderful talented young singer. Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - (rarest contralto with polyphonic overtones) I was stunned to find that the first performance (Show "You are Super") I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 18 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English, Spain and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on KZbin. Many KZbinrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Take On Me" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.
