I sell on ebay with my business ... are you aware that sellers ratings increase​ when they purchase products for themselves. I was told by ebay a few years ago those scores dont count anymore. You should check whether the business has lots of positive feedback instead. @Star_Sn1per

Another good check is to ask for more pictures of specific parts of the item. If they are a real seller, they will oblige. If no response or no reply then steer clear!

1:20 Fake images can be generated nowadays with AI tools, then additionally tweaked in some editing program. I'm not sure whether Google search could be of much help there - even if it could find the originals, they might be so heavily altered it would be hard to recognise them.

I think it's just a simple check you can do, rather than a foolproof method to ensure it's legitimate.

The same thing happened to me. I filed an "item not received case". The seller responded with a tracking number that showed "delivered". I couldn't believe it, but when I tried to open the picture of where the item was left, the picture was not there. The following day, ebay decided in my favor and refunded me.

Happened to me. They delivered to the wrong place. Seller files claim with shipper. Finally got my merch but seller filed a claim.

The scams have definitely gotten out of hand, however, you should never have transacted with a 0 feedback seller... especially on an item like this.

I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for 25 years. This is a very old scam that showed up around ten years ago. I’m surprised they are still attempting it? The seller will automatically lose any dispute becuase they did not obtain a signature for such an expensive item. However, shame on you too! You should have noticed they had zero feedback and ran! NOT buying a $2300 item from someone with no feedback is eBay 101. Even though eBay did not lose any money here, they put employee resources to protect you which they ultimately pass on to honest sellers as increased fees. Your excuse that it was late night is NO excuse. Buyers have to start assuming some basic responsibility for their dumb actions online.

eBay will return money next week. But experience is not very pleasant. As system shows package was delivered there is a little you can do.

@@hifirulezzz Phew.. Good. But how is this possible? There must be some integration between a delivery service (which really dispatch an item to your physical address) and eBay. Some API should answer eBay "yes, delivered". How did scammers frauded eBay, do you have any idea?

@@sc0or They just add tracking numbers to eBay, that is how it gets verified. However, I am not clear how they get valid tracking numbers originated from the same location on multiple shipping services. Both USPS and UPS looks like hacked.

Very common now days on eBay. I see camera's and other things around that $400 range. Your still protected for the most part but scary how often they do this.

Leaving that long in the US you just realized about a scam on Ebay? Every year at this time hundreds scam deals on Ebay. BTW PayPal moved their customer service to Thailand or Philippines and the people there don't care about buyer problems. The seller and if there is a company 100% protected by PayPal today!!!!! Personal advice...please start work on your pronunciations since you always say Z instate THE.
