Better odds, but being away from the family is a lame excuse for them because if it was the case they would hop on the plane and return home. If the person stays in the US and "moves on" just tells you they had their own plans. But yes, you have to be extremely careful about bringing them over, they are not prepared and often times since they are materialistic they will likely upgrade you or just move on with someone who speaks their language.
