Your first mistake was driving/testing it in Forza Horizon 😅 damn that game isn't made for wheels

"Buy it nice or buy it twice" Is the truth. I found out the hard way switching from the Logitech G29 after trying my buddys direct drive wheel i didnt even want to touch it. IMMEDIATELY bought the Moza R5 3 days later and its worth it‼

Literally just did this but I got the Logitech g pro set and I LOVE the difference! The truforce feels nice in combination with the DD, I see why they did it tbh

Yeah, I recently upgraded trom a Thrustmaster T-150 to a Fanatek CSL DD bundle. Definitely a huge difference, although I did use that T-150 for a couple of years so I don't feel it was a waste of money.

I am upgrading from Logitech g920 to Moza r12. I barely used it over the course of 4 years and accumulated 400 hours in different titles, most of them ETS 2 and snowrunner. The main stopping point was mounting and setting up the wheel, pedals and shifter and it's a joy killer. Now I want to say up a cockpit, which will only require putting on VR headset. Will it be used it collect dust like g920, time will tell

Bro, I did the same thing! Started with the Thrustmaster wheel with the cheap ass pedals. The wheel stand and hated it. I broke down the stand with the wheelbase attached to it and put it in the corner for about six months. But let me add this, I also purchased the wrong Simulator (game). Which is also huge in finding enjoyment in this hobby. I started with Project cars 2. I'm thinking, more bang for the buck, right? You would be wrong. So, I went back down the rabbit money hole. I started with buying ACC (simulator). I bought an Accuforce DD wheel. The Asetek pedals and a new rig. And as of now, the pedals and rig are still in the box. But because of room restraints. I really love sim racing and have plans om getting the Invicta wheelbase with the new wheel that they just bought out (here I go again). Great video and info.

i got to test a 100 thousand dollar sim a year ago and it was like being in the real car, the whole sim moved the sound was cranked so it was loud, they had a replica cockpit built with roll bars, the real wheel the button box like the real race car, they had fans that simulate the wind, rumble motors in the seat, the pedals so you can feel every crack, feel the curbs, the abs, the rear tires slipping it was insane!!!! and that got me hooked!!!

Enjoy the journey. Nothing wrong with upgrading constantly. Keep all of your equipment in great condition, for there is a great market for used sim equipment. In some cases, I've sold equipment for more than what I had bought them for. That said, yes, I am at the point now where my motto is "Buy once, cry once." BTW -- Eventually you might want an aluminum extrusion rig, instead...😎

Your logic was sound buying the entry level gear to see if it was something you'd stick with. You just figured out quicker than most that you would, and that you wanted a better experience. And now you have a setup for guests so you can introduce all of your friends to this money sink 😁

I totally feel where you're coming from. I bought most of my stuff used, so I always felt like I was getting a good deal compared to new. I'm trying to figure out what would be a good upgrade from a T300RS. I have a Playseat Trophy with T-LCM pedals and TH8A shifter.

Just wait sim racing will never be the same for you. Its a nonestop enjoyment. And that trsck racing will sneak up on you mark my words 😉 I still remember my first day with my simagic ultimate and yeah im now using it at 70% started out at 35% luckily settings dont seem to translate exactly perfectly on any wheelbase. Somehow that last 30% on any 20+nm base feels like a much bigger jump lol. But yeah most seem to get up to 70% tops like myself so im happy. Took me a while fiund myself adding more and more as time went on because we adapt. Hands get stronger, forearms get atronger even the back so yeah. Enjoy! You have some incredible gear thats for sure.

You are well aware, that in the future they plan to make a mixture of a belt driven and Direct driven in the same wheel. The reason is probably because the direct drive often hits you too hard, especially when it comes to suspension. Feels much better with a belt driven wheel, but the advantage of a direct driven is that you can feel more and is more precise. So yes DD is best, but not in all categories.
@Malficion29 күн бұрын
Don't go motion, it's really not worth it. Most people that have it just keep it on the low settings. Go with Bass Shakers with vibration isolators instead. That give more usable feedback.

Sick video! I just got a G920 with a shifter and stand for super cheap on FB Marketplace, then my buddy hooked me up with a PSVR2 for maximum GT7 dopeness. I'm loving the setup but.... I do want that direct drive lol. I'm gonna give Asetek a gander and see if I can make it work with my budget next year. That said, what I REALLY want is a moving seat to give you more immersion when it comes to cornering and man... THOSE are NOT cheap. One day though... one day.

I have the logitech g29 i play in vr, mainly rsf rbr and assetto corsa rally. Man the ffb is so good in rsf rbr and assetto corsa (epsecially in rsf rbr). It depends on the game, some games have bad ffb in general, some games have good ffb only for specific wheels (i.e dirt rally 2.0 has shitty ffb on logitech and thrustmaster, i don't know about other wheels). I am very happy with the g29, i use custom wheel rims on it since i own a 3d printer and i am good at diy and cad. I will buy a dd wheel in the future tho, but g29 is not a mistake for me, i love it and i am not in a rush to buy a dd wheel.

I didn't knock it as I said it just was not the technology for me or that I desired. It's a good entry wheel but for me I would have done better just applying that amount towards a direct drive system and that was the main point in this video
