Most my life I was a Ford guy (with a slight dip into the Jeep world). I bought a 2009 Toyota Sienna from my neighbor a couple years ago (had 209K miles) and I've put almost 50K miles on it with only MINOR repairs. Every button works, every light works, every latch works and I feel like this van is easily going to make it to 300K miles... I think I'm a toyota guy now.

@@dave3657 I bought the sienna for my business and driving Amazon flex. The automatic side doors are a must and although this is a 15 year old vehicle the automatic doors still function perfectly sometimes being opened and closed 50 to 100 times in one day. That's quality.

Prices have dropped in Illinois and Wisconsin from dealer mark ups in the thousands to manufacturer recommended msrp and some cars are below msrp……if you finance. If you pay cash they want msrp but some manufacturers have rebates of $1,000 if you pay cash which dealers must give you by law

As a Prius owner I suggest nothing over four years old. My 2010 needed a battery at 9 years and 78k miles. Remember this on hybrids, it isn't miles it's YEARS old. You'll hear of owners getting 200k-250K miles and the battery is still fine. Those vehicles are racking up 25k-40k miles a year like being used by a cab company. The third party companies that rebuild these batteries say most of the high voltage batteries, are going bad between nine and eleven years. I was lucky that my dealer and Toyota stepped up when my battery died. If they hadn't, it would have been around $3,500 to replace the original battery. I ended up paying $2,300 to replace my battery. If you're looking at a three year old Prius with 30-35K on it, it's priced right and has a clean CarFax, grab it, you won't be sorry.

Brandon, I am on my second Prius. I bought My first new one in 2010. I drove it 160K and sold it and bought a 2017 new. I have 80K and it still has nearly 100% battery life showing. This one is a Lithium. I love the looks of the new 2024 but the Toyota place will not bargain on them anymore. This 2017 gets 65 mpg in summer and 57 mpg in the winter. That's tough to beat.

The used car you buy from the dealer used to be from a private seller a couple of weeks early. Let's say I'm private seller, selling my car for 10k,I can sell it to you for 9k if u bring me the cash,or I can go to the dealer, get a new car and they can take my car like a trade in for $7k,they will clean it,do oil change, replace a light bulb, the window that doesn't go up and then they will sell it to you for $14K. That's how it works, you think they care about a review?

@@antonchigur764I’m a dealer. I put alot of time and money in getting these vehicles ready for sale. Yes sometimes I luck up getting cars that just need an oil change. But, a lot of times it’s not that simple. Headaches arise all the time. Bad transmission, Bad engine you name it. If problems arise after the sale I always take care of my customer you can’t always do that with a private seller. I do it because I’m able to get these issues fixed cheaper compared to the average individual and it’s the right thing to do.

Now a 70k truck at even say 7% the interest on a 60month loan is like -12-14,000… screw that… save your money try to buy in cash ain’t giving no bank 12k to buy a truck… banks suck are they giving us 7% on our money we have saved in bank account?? The words 'Certified Used Cars' on a dealer's business sign is a legal term, meaning the cars on his lot are 'Certified' to be used cars. Nothing more or less. The word certified does not imply the vehicle was inspected and/or repaired. The meaning of the words inspected or repaired is up to the dealer's discretion. Inspected could mean the dealer has inspected one hundred percent of the vehicle or he has looked at the car a hundred times. What a salesperson means when he says the vehicle has been inspected and needed repairs made are just that, words. The big question is, will the dealer present certified documents detailing what the car inspection revealed, good or bad, to a buyer and a work order listing any repairs completed? Just my food for thought.

The last point about Toyota having the most reliability - seems like the word has finally gotten out because they’re harder to find and even harder to get at a reasonable price

They don’t know about Scion though. Scions are rebadged Toyotas and can be had for far cheaper

@@agoogleuser7834 Most issues with them follow their Toyota counterparts of the same year. The Tc has a Camry engine and transmission. 2007-2010(I think) have oil burning issues. The xD is pretty much a Toyota Yaris w/ more doors. The FR-S is somewhat the odd one out because it has a Subaru motor. It’s 99% the same car as the Subaru BRZ and is a rebadged Toyota 86

Buyig a car with more than 50,000 miles is risky. Unless you get a fair price. The only one you can gamble is with a Toyota is very reliable.
