I did the SAME EXACT repair on our family's 'spare car' 1997 Honda CR-V in early December. The cat broke right after the input flange. I also replaced the oxygen sensor since it was the original and had 235,000 miles. Thanks for another great video, Christian!! Cheers, brother.

Its always good to have a beater and tho its a beater still take care of your stuff, you take care of you equipment it takes care of you as me and my grandfather say. I love the new language I hear in this vid lol. My father has a 2000 Honda civic that we are currently fixing the exhaust on. P.s. besafe bud

Yeah I'm also in the rust belt and I don't blame you. We have a 70 C20, 79 F350 in nice shape, strictly summer. I drive a 95 k1500 winter beater and I hate to rot it out but gotta run something. I don't drive too far so fuel isn't a big deal.

On my 1997 monte carlo, the trailing arm bracket that leads up into the car rusted to shit and broke. So the back left wheel can move on it's own. Its put to rest now but dont have any idea how to handle that
@ValleyCityAutoYT
@ValleyCityAutoYT 4 жыл бұрын

Always keep a disposable 'daily driver' and keep the truck(s) at home. Agree 100% - see guys driving their lifted trucks daily buying expensive mud tires all money down a rat hole.

Good job. Thanks for sharing and your time to make this video. Nice welding job. The only comment I can make on the exhaust job is to reposition that clamp so it wasn't protruding down so far, like turn it sideways. Question sir, how often do you change oil and at what point would you say 'time to get rid of the car'? I ask because it appears you have developed good maintenance habits.
@ValleyCityAutoYT
@ValleyCityAutoYT 4 жыл бұрын
Robert Weir that’s a good idea on the clamp, never thought of that. And as far as oil changes I change them at manufacturer spec. In my truck it’s about 6000 miles. Beater cars I like to change every 3000 regardless. And in my mind if a single repair costs more than the car is worth no matter how much you have into it already then I would get a different car.
