Just a tip: If you are struggling with putting back the soft pads, then just use the same method as putting back a really tight bicycle tire. Use something soft and thin (wooden match for example) between the rubber lip and the plastic headphone edge and while holding on to the already in place rubber pull it so the match will just raise the rubber lip up and then after the match it it will fall automatically back into place over the plastic lip. Super easy and no struggle at all.

For the earpads... might be useful to maybe use a dremel or something to create this little gap that the custom one pro have where you use that as a starting point to slide on the plastic ring around the cushions? Kind of like mounting a tire to a rim. Beyerdynamic Headphones last forever and such a mod would probably make the process of sliding on the cushions a bit easier. I already had to replace the PU leather cushions of my Custom One Pro's twice. But I appreciate that BD doesn't glue their headphones together or use any kind of brittle plastic clips. Good old fashioned screws make these headphones just so much worthier to keep and repair once a part breaks.

But thanks for the video and showing me how it should be done, so I can stop just pulling fruitlessly on the cable where it joins the headphone casing, which as I now realise, would not end well if I kept doing it, lol

I've had these headphones for maybe 3 months or so and the Jack or cable are already causing major issues. For that price point I expected a lot more seeing as even the cheapest headphones I've ever purchased show more durability. These headphones sound amazing so I'm gonna look at repairing them. Would replacing the jack not be much easier? I'm pretty sure it's the jack that's causing issues though I'm not totally certain. Visibly it appears as though it's not broken or even bent. At one point I thought it wasnt the headphones at all but because all my other headphones work its gotta be the headphones.

there's a little plastic cable protector attached to the cup, through which the cable is threaded -- when it breaks, the cable will start to move around a lot more, hastening the process of the cable losing it's protective coating AND causing the soldered connections to loosen (leading to crackling) ~ i don't really see an easy solution to this other than finding a similar new cable protector and hot-glueing it on at the join

@sebaslogic31854 жыл бұрын
Hey! You could check if the soldering points in the left ear cup and right ear cup are still good. If you do have a multimeter then check if the power is still reaching the right ear cup. One prong on the bottom part of the 3.5mm jack (right channel power). And the other on the positive speaker connector in the right ear cup. If power is not reaching the right ear cup then check if it’s reaching the left ear cup. Where it divides the power to the right ear cup. If no power is getting there either your cable might be causing the issue. When power is reaching the right ear cup as it should then the speaker itself might be broken. But if you don’t have a multimeter then it’s going to be tough to find the problem.
