NO ANGEL is the most underrated song on the album. This whole album is her best work in my opinion. I didn't appreciate it as much when it came out cause I was like 19 or 20. But for some reason right now, this album is really resonating with me lmaoo. its such an amazing, edgy and raw album. She's revealing so much of herself that I never even paid attention to before. I admire Beyonce so much. I haven't seen her in concert yet and I'm praying that my country pulls there shit together because I need to experience a Beyonce concert in this lifetime. I was so prepared for a 2020 concert cause I felt it coming! lol but 2020 had other plans. Praying for 2022!!

Everything with this song is perfect. Still remember that first time i heard it, pure ecstasy. Beyonce is so raw, she can do anything with her voice. People that don't like this song are most likely not from Houston. This song is my favoritist out of the whole album from the first time I heard it. It has soo much soul, it's slow, and chill mode,,, just like us Houston folk& thats why maybe she picked this song to do the video on Houston. Did she do a good job depicting Houston? Personally I don't think so. I feel she went hunting for the ghettoist locations, to give off the impression to the world that that's where she came from and look at her now (the rags to riches story). But if you from houston, and you know where she grew up, you then know she actually lived in an uppermiddle class neighborhood&went to a private school..she's never been "gansta"...point is though, she should have depicted Houston for what it really is, a mini melting pot. You got the majority being Hispanics, you got blacks, and you got whites, and Asian& middle eastern,,, but primarily hispanics. Most of houston isn't "ghetto" and falling apart, like depicted in the video. Our city is beautiful, and what I love about is you can be in the rachetest street but keep driving and then you are in the most luxurious part of the city,, houston has no boundaries when it comes to the wealthy&poor. It has no boundaries to race either, you can see a little bit of everything everywhere,,, yes maybe one race will dominate more than another in certain areas but you will still see all colors. Beyonce wants to depict to those who don't know Houston,,, as if she came from nothing to something, trying to really change her success story, she wants to depict herself as being gangsta, and being around these "gangstas" and gunshot wounded men, and strippers. when she was a good upper middle class girl, who went to private school, and church every single sunday, and who's daddy owned a jaguar& mother ran a beauty salon business.

I'm very familiar with Houston. went to school there and lived several years there after. Beyonce is from 3rd ward. I think she's showing that THAT is her roots and the side she most identified with. She doesn't seem concerned with presenting this sanitized version of Houston like she's an ambassador. She seemed more concerned with giving a shout out to folks in neighborhoods that were around her growing up.

This is where she grew up,3rd ward Southside of Houston... so to her it's not "ghetto", she stated that this album for her was pure liberation and honesty. I think maybe she was revealing exactly who Beyonce truly is... not the image her team created to help her open doors; but who she IS and in the song saying that everyone has something not so "glamorous" about them but it's the not so glamorous parts of people that you truly fall in love with and enjoy. Everyone is open to their opinions and as a artist and woman I'll not puff my chest out and make myself right and you wrong, I just love the music and to me it's good music- just putting my voice of opinion of chere' lol
