I still play my GameCube copy one every 2 years or so. It’s one of those rare 10/10 games. It feels like such a fully realized lived in world that they just drop you into. When I first played it, I really thought “wow games are just going to get better and better. In 20 years they will be amazing” I really didn’t know we were in the golden age and things would get much worse

They absolutely weren't lol, and I say this as somebody who grew up with the N64 and Gamecube. Play this game without nostalgia glasses and you will see that the average AAA game today has much better mechanics, controls, camera, overall presentation, story-telling, voice acting etc etc. The combat, for example, is just god-awful and the stealth is as simplistic as it could possibly be. Heck, even the menus feel clunky AF.

@@alibabaschultz352 I do, too (or, rather, they have the potential to be art). But they are *interactive* art, and, as such, all these things I mentioned matter. Not that wild of a statement, I think, to say that the *gameplay* matters when you're *playing* a *game* lol And, again, even the more, let's say "clasically artistic" aspects of games like voice acting, story-telling, music, are all typically done way better today than they were back then.

Meh, more like the older 3D Zelda games: 1. The first few story-locations you visit follow the Zelda formula of visiting a location, getting a new item after exploring the location for a bit, using said-item to continue exploring, and fighting a boss at the end. 2. The locations you visit have maps you can take a picture of, just like Zelda locations have maps to find. 3. There are hearts to collect in this game. 4. Jade wears green, like Link. 5. Talking animals

Wish you had mentioned that the only way to play this without linking a Ubisoft account was to disconnect the internet by switching to airplane mode. I had hoped that there was an option to opt out, like in Lost Crown, but no such luck. EDIT: there is a way to opt out, but it's silly. If you just hit cancel when prompted to link your Ubisoft account, it will just pop the prompt up again. But if you hit A to link, and then cancel out of the link screen, the prompt goes away. Not sure why cancel doesn't just let you, you know, cancel out of linking accounts, but this is Ubisoft.

@redbomberx3547 ай бұрын
Because it's more important than maybe you realize. Fps, unlike just graphics, actually affects gameplay. After playing certain games on other consoles at 60fps, it's very noticeable when playing the same games on Switch. Doom and Doom Eternal being good examples.
@zedhead907 ай бұрын
It’s more responsive. More responsiveness is always better. And it’s weird that Ubisoft, one of the most successful game companies ever, couldn’t make a GameCube game with minor visual improvements that isn’t very large run at 60fps. I think most people understand with the likes of Doom or Tears of the Kingdom that a $300 portable console released almost a decade ago isn’t going to net you that kind of performance, but this is bizarre.
