The memories you've just brought back again! All the Bassetlaw videos have sparked them, but this one is is perfect. My first ever archaeological job was at Bassetlaw Heritage Project - under the control of Cresswell Crags - and we were based at Worksop Priory Gatehouse. Definitely an interesting workplace. We fieldwalked and surveyed all over Bassetlaw, so these videos have brought back so much. I was also part of a team walking Bassetlaw's footpaths, carrying clip boards and writing reports as we went. Was the path still there? Was it accessible? Had a farmer deliberately blocked a path? Could you get a push chair or wheel chair down it? (Definitely one of the weirdest jobs I've had, and my 5ft 2 body was often paired up with a 6ft 5 chap: I could've done with a lead to keep him on, or skates for me!) This was all around 1988/9. My memories need stimulating now I've hit my 50s 😂 I also live in Sheffield now, and have lived next to Spital Hill. It's a small world.

It surely is! I did this pretty much on a whim because I had some time after filming Welbeck (thats going to be a story and a half, that episode). Great little story! Always good to spark memories. Gorgeous that gatehouse, really is!
